The drive for 5 in a row. I don't care what anybody says, it's tough Drew root against this team just to improve draft positioning. We are never going to be in a position to draft Jack Hughes. Watching this team, I just don't think we're bad enough 2 have a realistic expectation to finish as a bottom five Club in the entire league. This team has played hard throughout the season and has lost some really really tight games. There is only one really bad defeat in the losing column. The young players are getting the opportunity to compete and that experience in the coming years is far more valuable then a team tanking just for a chance at the number one overall pick. Wild Hughes looks to be a generational Talent and terrific scorer, I find it far more likely that we don't net the number one overall pick and somebody else went up taking them. So as a consolation, I will take the competitive experience that are younger players currently on the team will get from actually being a factor this season.
Btw, how do you guys feel about these "Digital 6" unis for the Rangers?
Rest of the Digital 6 jerseys - (

Pionk, really nice, veteran move on the PP point, moving laterally along the blue line and dipping his shoulder freezing the checker...we haven't seen a ton of creativity on Rangers PP in recent years. They seem to be moving the puck more crisply while in possession. Pionk also had a really nice outlet in close quarters at or behind goal line to free up a rusher.
pj, I watched the serial replays of Larkin's game winner. You could be right that Pionk's inexperience or inattentiveness cost the team, but for the entire OT, the Rangers were a step or more behind and Detroit was dominating in open ice and possession, a number of icings preventing changes. Whoever was out there looked gassed while Detroit was going at it hard. Seemed inevitable that something bad would happen. 5 seconds left, sheesh. Shattenkirk just turned and rolled his eyes, he was as much responsible as any of the three.

I was referring to the tying goal wrt Pionk. Pionk wasn't even on the ice in OT for the GW. I don't fault people for OT goals generally, unless they do something stupid like take an ill-timed shot that goes very wide and leads to a breakaway.
This does NOTHING TO HELP THE FUTURE! It's all Bullshit! Lose, lose, lose!

I'm telling you, they're going to take over 1st place in the Metropolitan
Unfortunately he's going to have to cool his heels for a month plus with a broken thumb.

I expect bit things out of him as long as Quinn allows the guy to be creative and play his game and not neuter him like AV did

Thanks for ruining my life.

I wondered about that when the trainer was looking at his thumb... I don't remember when that was during the game, but didn't he continue to play and presumably was able to hold the stick? I don't recall them saying anything about him missing any shifts
Rangers for the over for tonight's conflict of interests.....(: ):
Interesting Quiz during the game as to how many Rangers-Blue Jackets have played more than 200 (?) games for both teams. If I recall right, it is Nash, Dubinsky, Brassard, blanking on the 4th.
Tyutin. I never would've gotten that.
Brock Boeser too.
Canucks the 3rd youngest team in the league.
...
I want to watch the Rangers... but if I don't watch the Giants it will be the first Giants game I will have missed since 1970... just thinking about not having the game on for the opening kickoff is impossible for me to handle... I already know I'll have the Giants game on with sound and the Rangers streaming on my laptop, which means I'll end up not following either game - the worst of both worlds
Brock Boeser too.
Canucks the 3rd youngest team in the league.
Word has it that the Rangers wanted Pettersson on Draft Night, but he obviously went earlier and the Rangers opted for Lias Andersson. They also wanted Cale Makar a year before.
who the f**k are Nikolai Zherdev and Dan Fritsche?

You don't remember one year of Zherdev? I infamously said after one game (think it was against Pittsburgh) that he was as talented as Ovechkin.
Fun times. Fun times. 18 year old me.

Pettersson is playing better than i thought he would.
He and Andersson were linemates on Sweden U20 team who lost to Canada last year (when Andersson threw the silver medal in the stands)
Sweden was so much more talented than everyone else. Dahlin, Andersson, Pettersson, Boqvist, Nylander, etc.
Such an upset.

Yea, no I don't... lol
Was that Chytil with a really nice sequence, control along the boards, and fast behind the net? Some talent there
... I thought it was going to be Hank but, hey, the kid got his first goal and was flying all over the ice
