NFT: Mets news - J P Ricciardi leaving Mets front office

Ira : 11/10/2018 7:55 am
Ricco and Minaya remain with the team. I read a rumor, on a Mets forum, that Ricciardi may be joining the A's.

Glad BVW will get to hire at least 1 higher profile assistant GM

also glad Ricco is staying. May not be a dynamic baseball mind but he's been there forever and knows all the ins and outs of the organization. Hopefully Omar is compartmentalized.
Ricco has NOT confirmed

Yet
Marlins
DanMetroMan : 11/10/2018 11:28 am : link
current ask is "nuts" per someone I just spoke to. Asking about proven young MLB pitching. Syndergaard, Buehler etc. Ridiculous.
Feeling
DanMetroMan : 11/10/2018 11:30 am : link
is the Marlins will get a true bounty if they move Realmuto.
100%
DanMetroMan : 11/10/2018 11:35 am : link
not on board with Maldonado if he's being paired with Plawecki. He was out hit by the Mets catchers last year. You want a glove... they have Nido.
I’ll give the Marlins credit
Shecky : 11/10/2018 11:40 am : link
They’ve created a hell of a lot of hype, and might somehow pull it off. Impressive.

His max value is going to be a low payroll team trying to win now like the A's. No idea if they have what it takes to get him but Billy Beane has given up big assets before. Maybe if the Nats lose Harper they are desperate to get him and up their previous offers?

If they move him I suspect they end up with a very, very nice deal. They could be sitting pretty had they actually cared about talent vs. dumping money last off-season. I know Stanton's contract limited his market but Ozuna and Yelich, yeah Yelich wasn't "this" but he was viewed as a very good young player.
not sure if they're rumored but I think the A's are a good fit for JTR
Eric on Li : 11/10/2018 11:49 am : link
they could offer a good young position player like Olsen or Laureno plus Murphy who is one of the top catching prospects in baseball and only a few years younger than JTR. Maybe add in another borderline top 100 guy like Armenteros too.

Chapman, Davis, JTR, Semien, Piscotty, plus whoever stays from Olsen/Laureno would be a pretty damn good roster to build on.

feels like the exact type of player Beane would target too. It's been a little bit since he made a massive trade out of nowhere.

He really needs to shave his head, he reminds me of Karl from Die hard.

And I am conflicted rooting for Karl every 5th day.
