and he's got Duke to a winning record, looks like they will go to a bowl game. Mentored by Cutcliffe is also a positive. I'm sure he will be in the mix come draft time, question is where? 1st rd, 2nd rd?
RE: I find it a little strange that we dont hear Â
About the Giants attending Duke games to watch Jones like we have heard about them going to Ducks games for Herbert or today for Grier at WVU.
Maybe waiting for better games to scout out more players? I mean they did play VA tech and Miami but so so otherwise. I'm sure they've got guys going to next week's Clemson game

Yea I hear ya. But to be fair, I dont know if he will give a good impression of his ability with Clemson's D line matching up against the Duke O line. I expect Clemson to devour them.
Nice deep ball there. Hold may have prevented a TD.
But this UNC defense is absolutely pitiful. Holy shit, what a terrible defense.
Yea well, Duke's OL is terrible and Jones is lucky if he hits a receiver in stride amd the receiver catches the ball. So keep that in mimd.
But this is the cookie in their recent schedule for sure. Its a shame last week in Miami was a deluge. Would have loved to see him get some shots against a great D.
But got the PI. I still really like this QB. He is not electric by any means. But he can make all the throws, will hang in the pocket if needed, can run and he is really good at RPO.
He doesnt have any guys that can really stretch the field. He seems to be putting an awful lot of air under the ball and in most of the cases he has to get rid of the ball.
They did take Syracuse to double overtime this year and this is a good game. This is reinforcing what I've been hearing the drums about Daniel Jones as our next QB, the kid can flat out play. He's mobile, has good arm strength, he's very very accurate and most importantly he's a leader, physically and vocally. He throws a beautiful deep ball with touch and he will grit out a 10+ yd run or more.

I havent noticed him being very vocal. But your point remains. I agree that he is my favorite and the best NFL QB prospect this coming draft. I take him and dont look back. He has a quick release. Makes quick decisions. He would have better numbers, but his receivers drop a ton of balls.
Where would you feel comfortable drafting him tyrik? Do you try and trade down for more picks? Or would you take him top 5?

Depending on his showing at the combine (where I think he'll show out big time) I would try and trade back a couple of spots and draft him. If the Giants feel he would be gone by then, draft him and don't look back.
He's not getting the hype in the media that Grier and Herbert are. Less overall talent on the roster compared to those teams as well.
Oregon doesn’t have much talent either. Their skill position players are dreadful. People think it’s Oregon, so they must have talent all over the field as usual but this is the least talented Oregon offense at the skill position in a long time.

I'm referring to overall talent that would attract scouts outside of the QB position.

Oregon has way better skill position players than Duke does and it's not even close. Difference is Herbert doesn't seem to elevate his team, where as Jones does.

If you think Oregon has good skill position players then that’s a sure sign that you havent bothered to watch them play this year. Literally ever single telecast they talk about the lack of talent. Let’s not confuse past years Oregon teams with this one. The WRs Herbert is throwing to are dreadful. But I guess only Jones gets to use that excuse?

Sir, I've watched them play this year and what I said was, they have better skill position players than Duke does, might want to re-read what I wrote. Also, if Duke had a Dillion Mitchell, which they surely do not, Jones numbers would be way better than what he's putting up. Duke doesn't field many 4 or 5 star players, if any at all.
Better o-line than Duke does as well. There is no confusion as far as this year's Oregon team vs any of their previous teams. They still have more talent on either side of the ball then Duke does.
In the fact that I'm a Duke football fan. Coach Cutcliffe has had them to bowls just about every year recently. They have more talent than people give them credit for. They've been putting a few pro NFL prospects on their team every year. Granted, not as many as Oregon, but they are not exactly Rutgers. Jones is the best QB they've had in a while and coming back off a broken collarbone in 2 weeks is sick. He definitely is more talented than Duke's last two Cutcliffe QBs that went pro Sean Renfree and Thad Lewis but they didn't have the players around him Jones has had. I'm no expert but Imo he's better than Lauletta. I didn't even realize the Giants were linked to him.

He has a decent set of wheels.
He has a decent set of wheels.
More than decent. And he just gritted out a weaving 10 yard run for a 1st down.
Well, Herbert is probably faster, but yeah, it doesn't matter much if you can't make people miss.
Yeah, it was a nice throw

Yea and even if hes a full .2 secs faster on his 40, Jones runs with a purpose and falls forward. Really like this kid.
I lost interest. TCU's defense is awful. Grier is throwing to wide open players.

His recievers and oline are trash, he truly does make them better.

Jones can just pull a Burress - promise to build Lauletta a new kitchen to switch numbers, then stiff him.
