Yep, looks great. Running backs are jus so valuable in the NFL in 2018 so it was a no brainer to pick one while having exactly 1 premium player at a premium position on the entire team.
I said falcons d is terrible which it is. Mayfield still has to capitalize, and he sure is doing that. I mainly used the "falcons d is terrible" line because of what fans were saying as a reason why the giants put up a ton of passing stats when the two played a couple weeks back.
What has CHANGED from last year? Yes, Fournette out for some games, but this team looks totally in the dumpster. What happened? Couldn't be that it was one game NYG played them tough, although that is now looking suspect.
Bortles is terrible and their offense is easy to defend against and grind down physically. You get up on them early and they are dead. Their secondary has also been exposed more this year.
Fournette is great but they have no diversity to their offense in terms of deep threats and consistency in the slot. Yeldon provides some receptions out of backfield but he and Fournette on field together takes away either a receiver and or a blocker and allows defenders to keep loading the box.

I think Fournette was their offense due to the terrible QB. When he was injured, the team ended up starting the season on a bad note and things spiraled out of control.
Teams might have solved their defense too.
Jags' d seemed pretty balanced, formidable. Seems like something rotten going on in the locker room. And if, as you say, things spiraling in the wrong direction, Marrone has questions to answer.
Part of it is perhaps the players learning that each year you have to earn your spot as a player and as a team in the league. Nothing that was done last season matters in the current season.
I have to say Bortles, admittedly with all the time in the world, was really precise in his accuracy and touch to his TEs, RBs on swings and screens, even a couple of medium deep throws along the sideline. Seems like he lost his confidence leading to his benching. Moral of the story: openers against 1-7 teams to be can be deceiving. ):
Made it so easy on Cleveland's defense. Atlanta's decision to not involve the running game inside the five yard line was welcomed by Cleveland's defense

Their defense has not been good today. Stop blaming Bottles for all their troubles.

That was one of the games this year where I was angrier at the defense than the offense. Bettcher had a questionable game plan that day and should have done a better job once Fournette went out.

Hes 80 percent of their problems. Ill keep blaming him as long as he limits them. Thank you for your insight as always.

Giants' D held the Jags to seven punts on seven possessions in the second half with Fournette out.
Giants' O gave the Jags their only points of the second half with the pick six that was the winning margin.

The defense needed to get turnovers. Bettcher ran a softer defense than he usually does against an offense that couldnt find its way out of a paper bag. He should have pressured Bortles more and didnt. The defense needed to score that day and win some field position battles more.

Getting angrier at the defense than at the offense for not scoring crosses a line of absurdity. We can all hope that a new Giants' offense, in the not too distant future, will be a remedy.

Welcome to the 2017-2018 Giants seasons. Absurd doesnt begin to describe it.

But what is making it obvious it was the best pick for them, curious
The fourth down play call was odd in my opinion. They put Ryan in shotgun which takes away the element of the sneak

Perhaps this thread isn't the place for a debate regarding Saquon vs qb.
👍
Losing Bilal Powell was a killer.

They're awful.

McGuire is actually pretty good - there's not a huge fall off there.
The Jets need to fire Bowles immediately. He's a terrible coach.
Atlanta had a chance to maybe get on a second half streak, but dropped this one.

They probably will now. Can't wait to hear Francesser tee off on the Jets tomorrow :-)

The cure for that is playing the Giants.
Crazy how good they are at home. Looked like a totally different team on the road.
Davis Webb is horrible. Can't even get into a game like this.

The Jags D has not this year. Embarrassing.
