Does every NFL team use the same sound effects at every game? I'm watching Red Zone, and I think they all have the same 3rd down call, and all use the 'All Aboard' from Crazy Train.
they do it at the Giants games too. The NFL is a homogeneous product at the games. I miss the days of Bob Shepard at Giants Stadium using a different verb each time to announce a tackle. "Cunningham spilled by Taylor". I know, get off my lawn.
the live game experience is really terrible. you (and i) massively overpaid for the right to watch this piece of shit team. sit the fuck down and watch it. up down up down up down. can you really not go without eating drinking or pissing every 15 minutes you disgusting pig?
And I had forgotten that the guy who took over for Sheppard and was the announcer for 10 years sounded exactly like Sheppard. The funniest thing is I remember my dad and uncle saying it must have been Bob Sheppard's son and we all just agreed on that and I literally always thought that was the case lol. It turns out that it was Jim Hall, who is not Bob Sheppard's son. Hall also died in 2017, which I did not know. But yeah, thinking back I think it was creepy that he seemed to try his best to sound like Bob Sheppard. Turns out this was the reason for that:
"Hall's voice is quite similar to Bob Sheppard's. When he filled in for Sheppard, visiting teams and media often did not know that Sheppard was not announcing. This was purposeful, as Hall has said Sheppard asked him to speak in his same style and cadence so as not to distract the fans."
I still think that's kind of weird/funny that Bob instructed him to do that.

I thought it was creepy too, but didn't know the back story. Good stuff!

Nope, I agree with you, our lawns must be neighbors!

This might sound strange, but I think at the beginning of the game it Metallica, but I think they used to used 'Hells Bells' during the game, when a big defensive stop was needed. I most certainly could be wrong.
Every time I get one of the season ticket surveys asking about my Game Day experience, I clearly state "kill that 3rrdd down public announcer thing", but I am obviously wasting my time. It is the kiss of death, almost every time, although I suppose if the team was a bit better, the results might be different on 3rd down and every other down.

The beginning of the game is hells bells not for whom the bell tolls.
