I personally think they guy was misunderstood to a degree

And consistently didnt get the call even as a superstar (how is his headband coming off NOT a blatant foul 99% of the time? Does he knock it off himself? And why does THIS star not get calls especially when the league admits to the practice?). And IMO he's a lock for the HOF

Still given his low bball IQ, terrible D & mediocre at best effort, he is one of the worst type of HOFers there is
His body is giving out at this point

but he was a great player in his prime. He should've never left the Nuggets. He wasted his prime years on a lot of bad Knick teams that had 20mm of the cap dedicated to Amare.
True Story. Stupid Story

...lived out here in Denver for 17 years, and used to work in building near Fox Sports Denver Studios. One day, walking to my car, looking at my keys, I almost bumped into this huge dude coming out of studio doors.
It was Carmelo. He goes to walk around me, and I couldnt help myself...
yknow...the Knicks could really use you!

He turned to me and just smiled. Probably was intended like a youre a dumbass wry smile. But I choose to believe that I singlehandedly brought Melo to NY!!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
So it's your fault Pete

thanks a lot.
He was never the same

after he hurt his knee a few years ago. Every year his shot selection got further and further from the hoop. He's at best a spot up shooter now, but he does absolutely nothing else to help a team win and still thinks of himself as a superstar.

I can't think of any quality team that he would fit on. I guess he can go to a bad team and put up empty stats, but he cannot contribute to a playoff team at this point.

Agree with this. Nobodys happy with how his NY tenure worked out, and however much shit Jax gets for giving him a max with a no trade clause, it will never be enough. Its easy to point out all of Melos flaws over the balance of his time in NY and since, but I also think the criticism of his overall career is over the top. Hes a legit hall of famer IMO, and going back to his time in Denver was consistently one of the best players in the league.

That said, hes gone downhill fast since that knee injury, and seems to have a big fork in his back now. Compounded by the fact he still thinks hes a superstar who hasnt showed much interest in playing team basketball in a long time.

So to your point, both the Thunder and now the Rockets realized quickly theres no chance he still helps a contender out as a diminished role player.
I accept full responsibility for my actions...

Believe it or not.... that would be the ONLY spot I think he could fit. And he actually could start for them too. His only job would be to spot up and shoot. His defense would be hidden with Simmons/Butler/Embiid.

I mean he wont be good.... but I can actually see it working there.

Why in God's name would Philly do that?

They literally have no one at the 3 or 4 who can shoot it consistently. Not saying Melo can, but its worth a look.

If I'm Philly, I try to swing a deal for Korver. I'd much rather him than 'Melo.

Still gives them a glaring hole at the 4 spot. If I were Philly, I woudl try and get a stretch 4 for Fultz. Orlando needs a guard in the worst way. Fultz and picks for Gordon.

Dep, not a bad trade proposal. I just don't think anyone wants Fultz.

It really is amazing how his career has started out.

Ive seen quite a few sixers games. Fultz has game. He can get to the basket, he rebounds well for a guard, and is unselfish. His shooting is a huge problem obviously.... but he is so restricted with Simmons. They are the same player, but Simmons is just so much bigger, longer, and better.

Fultz on a new team would be a productive player, IMO.
You see his FT shot last night?
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 11/13/2018 11:34 am : link
Good God.

I definitely think his career can be resuscitated, but it'll probably have to be somewhere else. Also, I'm concerned how he'll mesh with Butler. Butler could eat him alive.
