Any suggestions on the best way to get from La Guardia Plaza hotel to Metlife? Been told that a Metro Card is the best bet for just going anywhere while we're there. Do those cards cover ALL methods of public transportation? Bus, Train, Subway? And if so, can we just get 1 card for all five of us or do we have to buy 1 card for each of us.

Seems to me like 1 card with alot of money slapped onto it would be the best bet. My concern is if they'll let you swipe it then hand it to the next person to come in. But if we have to buy 1 card for each person that sounds more expensive (price for each card multiplied by 5 ppl as opposed to 1 card for five ppl).

I'd rather not fool with uber. Been told that is an option too. Just don't trust it and have never used it so don't think this would be the best time for the "first time."

Thanks in advance.
Uber before now and then

It’s relatively reliable
Uber is great

And you should trust it. Very convenient and reliable. But getting around Manhattan by car can take time. To avoid traffic, the subway is the best way. The metro card is good for subway and buses in the city. On a pay per ride, up to four people can use it. On an unlimited ride, the card is frozen for eighteen minutes, so not practical for more than one person to use it.
Metrocard will only get you on the NYC transit

so buses, subway and the PATH. It will not get you to Metlife. I don't go from the city anymore, but the two ways on public transit to get to the stadium are NJ Transit train (buy tix at penn station on 34th) and NJ transit bus (buy tix at the port authority on 42nd). Since the game is on a Sunday, getting there shouldn't be an issue, but I have heard the train is crowded and annoying on the way home. Buses are buses, and subject to traffic.

You're going to wait a little longer on any public transit you take, but you can also booze it up and not worry, so there's that. If the Giants win, the trip can even be kind of fun.

I've never done uber to/from the stadium, but again I think you would have an easier time getting in then getting out. There is a spot for pickups close to the stadium, make sure your driver knows to go there. Go Giants!
