I attended my first Atlanta United MLS game tonight, playoff game against NY FC. I heard it was a cool game experience, but it was just outrageous. Wild crowd and super high energy. Announced attendance of 70,526 at the beautiful Mercedes Benz stadium. What a great time!
I’m curious regarding what MLS games are like in cities other than Atlanta, as compared to Atlanta. Do the fans show up for the games? Are they rabid?
Or is the Atlanta experience an anomaly?
It looked absolutely awesome on TV. Me being a City fan and an NYCFC fan made me jealous. Yankee Stadium for soccer is a joke.
I already bought tickets for the next game.

My family had season tix for the Giants from 1975 - present. I've been to my more than my fair share of NFL games.
It's just my humble opinion but by and far the best fan experience in the metro area currently is Red Bull arena, especially so since MetLife stadium is atrocious.
A guy can bring his family to a match and not have to blow a huge portion of his paycheck on hot dogs, soda, and beer.
Good for them!
We got 2 killer pulled pork BBQ sandwiches from Fox Brothers, one of the better BBQ places in Atlanta. They were huge. No way my lady friend could finish hers. And I was too full to finish what she left. Two diet cokes, non-drinkers here. Same as restaurant price, very reasonable.
The Benz is just a great facility.
"The Gulch", which is adjacent to the facility, has just been cleared for a huge development deal. It will be a walking mixed-use area.
Atlanta is a boom town.
Now all we need is for Arthur to bring us back a hockey team!
Atlanta United sold/distributed over 1 million tickets already this season.
