How terrible is he and the new Monday night crew? Booger sitting on his high chair just gets on my nerves. Unless Eli balls out tonight, he will have nothing good to say. Is it just me?
Last week was the tipping point for me when early on Booger actually said its on the Titans coaches to not put Mariotta in situations he's best at and Witten agreed with him. Wtf?
Then later when they were rolling Witten said great job by the Titans coaches for putting Mariotta in situations where he's good and could succeed, and of course Booger agreed with that!
This week I'm off to Papa and Banks on the radio and will do my best to pause the TV and sync the radio broadcast up with it. No way I can listen to another broadcast by these clowns. Let alone a Giant one.
and having him on that stupid dolly is moronic. If they want his incessant input, then put him in the booth. As television, it is distracting. As football, it is lacking. As entertainment, it is failing.
broadcast I've ever seen. Jason Witten is not a smooth conversationalist on air, every sponsored part of the programming is more in-your-face than ever before, and McFarland makes me think of all the fans who paid good money to have their views obstructed by his needless commenatary.
at how little Jason Witten is able to add to any given conversation about football. His insights are literally useless. Did they just give him the job because they saw how much of a success Romo was and figured Witten must be just as good? It's weird for a player to so quickly get a weekly national TV gig in the broadcast booth, but it seems like they only did it with Witten because Romo was a "success" and the two of them are friends. But seriously Jason Witten I find pretty much everything he says to be completely and utterly useless so far. And all 3 of those guys together are incredibly subpar. Although I guess I've always found whatever MNF crew they put together to be subpar, but still it seems to be extra terrible this year.

He also talks so close to Tessitore and has his giant hands all spread out and is overly intense when talking about the play. And he looks like Marv Albert with his new hair.
They're part of what Howard Cosell termed the "Jockocracy" of sports broadcasting, and he had a point. These guys haven't been trained to do the job and approach it literally from the stand point of an amateur trying to sound legitimate.
Others have sucked at the job, too, but at least had some redeeming qualities. Dennis Miller, for example, was a total douchebag on MNF, but periodically had something amusing to say. OJ actually wasn't totally horrible. Frank Gifford was good up until Kathy Lee got ahold of him, and then he became kinda lame.
But this batch of MNFers is by far the very worst I've ever seen in my 48 years of football watching, going all the way back to 1970. The aptly named Booger is utterly useless and acoustically grating. But Jason Witten is even worse: he's supposed to add nuance as he educates his audience on the finer points of the game, but he stumbles over his words, repeats silly self-evident points, and squeals in a high pitched voice that makes my dog howl.
I stopped watching MNF with sound three weeks ago to save my pet.

This post should find it's way into the BBI hall of fame. It is that good.
but I found Booger quite annoying. I wasn't really paying close enough attention for the other guys to really register, but that video of Witten clips was pretty bad.
...he then paraphrases his own sentence an additional 2-3 times. He copuld have something to add....but he's trying to be spectacular
Tessitore is a total Douche. .
Booger???? other than being purposely "edgy"...he's now not high up enough to have a "Coach's View"....Let's say STANDING NEXT TO WITTEN!!!????.....and He's on the Sideline only as much as those front row fans are--- He's not on nthe sideline!
So..Booger....ESPN!!!---What's the F'ing Point!!!!! ????
Loving the 49ers plan on their 5th year of rebuild now (and zero titles and maybe 3 playoffs made in 25 years).... but not like what Gettleman has done in one offseason.
Did people really think the Giants needed to make a tweak or two off a 3-13 season to get back to the playoffs?
Try and reinvent the wheel with these broadcasts of theirs. It’s the most entertaining game in world history. People can’t get enough of it. You could put a fucking house plant in the studio and have a fart machine call the plays by making fart noises and you will still win the ratings war. So what does espn and other networks do? Spend millions on a bunch of former jocks and have them run around (literally) and talk NON fucking stop as if that’s gonna help them get even better ratings. Yes! Because people want to hear idiots talk about bullshit but please don’t say anything truly genuine or honest? Nope just talk shit, bullshit bullshit and more bullshit.
Not that I want to see anyone lose their job by I swear I could save these networks millions annually. I’d make them even richer.

It's Shanahan and Lynch's second year as coach and GM.
49ers haven't had a winning record since 2013. They've made the playoffs 4-5 times in 20 years. Just because a rookie Gm fresh out of the broadcast booth and a good offensive coordinator have been there two years -- you don't get extra credit or a pass because Jerrick McKinnon gets hurt. Gimme a break.
Point is way too early to judge Gettleman and Shurmur. Or at the very least the 49ers aren't in any kind of direction ... they've sucked forever. Just like the Browns. Save a few years that Harbaugh milked out of them (but still fell short unlike our team which did it twice )
Just put him in the booth.
Me either.

Is it too much to ask to have an intelligent person with a decent command of the English language to provide commentary during a sports broadcast?

The end of that clip is great, Steve Young's face is priceless.
Who can forget the Emmitt Smith calculator, how he lasted so long on ESPN one will never know.
They should just bring the Ditka booth back. At least that was entertaining.
I remember when I was a young lad in the 70's, that it was the pinnacle of the week's NFL games..
now it is just a joke..

But he's bookended by two rookie idiots with absolutely no skills.
