IMO if Eli comes out and shits the bed they have to bench him if not next week they need to at least move Lauletta to number 2 and get him ready.
I don't think they have to win for him to continue to start but he has to elevate his play and not be the reason they loose. We all know the line is what it is BUT he can't look like dog shit again after a bye week without some kind of change?
Probably because the run blocking is the worst in the NFL.
Barkley is getting hit at or behind the LOS on nearly every carry. I'd like to see more of a commit to the run too - but we're probably just going to see more 3 and outs (if that's possible) by setting up 2nd/3rd and longs constantly by getting stuffed for no gain or a loss on 1st down carries.
I'd like to see some more outside/off tackle runs. Even a few tosses. We obviously can't run anywhere near the A gaps because the interior is just getting driven backwards.
I wouldn't run to the right often, either - Wheeler is awful.
Best bet is to try running behind Solder/Hernandez more often.

All year. Why would he show up now? Is he getting younger?
I hope Eli lights it up and they win. I do not expect that to happen, but dare to dream.
Not to defend Eli, but the Giants were one 63 yard miss away from Eli's best game in awhile, against a Texan team that is now a winning team, and 30 plus point output with two 4th quarter TD'S for a comeback win. I know this team sucks, but who knows what happens if that kick misses, that was a brutal loss.
That was against Carolina not Houston.
Yes, the Carolina win would have come right after the Houston win. Piggybacking good games from the offense including breaking the 30 point plateu in a comeback win.
Also, it boggles my mind the Giants pass so much. I know they o line gets blown up and many runs are for losses, but how do you air it out 51 times last week when Eli is getting drilled and it is a kne score game for so long.
Unless the team really looks better in the second half, I have seen enough of Shurmur and I think he will likely crash and burn.
Barkley could still break big one, it at least forces opposition to think about the run. May allow for more effective play action or at least not allow the d line to be fresh and just rush eli the stationary target.
Also, plan to use players and formations in a way more favorable to line it up and run. It is madness to keep airing it out and frankly Eli, I know loses all time now, is the only guy who can not get injured with the battering he takes.
Two**
It is amazing, some moron called the FAN today and tried to argue that Alex Smith’s career was better than Eli’s and the giants would have been better off with him. Please make it stop!

If Lauletta is the future then we are all fucked.
As they said in New England, if a 6th round pick is the future of this team, we're all fucked
