Been focusing a bit more on him and think we really have something here. The roughing the passer on the last Niners drive could’ve been a back breaker but the fact he got the pressure and would be sack at that point in the game is what’s needed. Also got good pressure on the final play of the game where there was the holding call. Looking forward to him getting an off-season in the weight room and continuing to develop his pass rush skills. Very optimistic about the future for this rookie.
I do like him as a rotational piece, and that's a solid get in the 3rd.

He's in his first year. You will see a huge step up for him in Years 2 and 3. This guy is a keeper, and our ONLY legitimate pass rusher right now.

he's not the ridiculous pass rushing force you want as a starting 34 OLB and he's not stout enough to be a fulltime ILB.

Have to agree and if the other side of the line would have applied any pressure I am sure he would look even better. He definitely seems to have great speed.

Wtf is wrong with people. He’s a rookie who has played minimal snaps. Only recently has his snap count picked up. And he is a force rushing the passer unfortunately he only has one move right now. He’ll work on moves and getting stronger. He’s absolutley going to be the starting OLB next year
So you listen to patty on locked on Giants. Cool story at least give her the credit when it’s due. She does really good work on that show.
I would love for NYG to get Josh Allen from Kentucky and have him bookend with Carter for a few years.
The problem is he's not Khalil Mack or Von Miller? Yeah, I guess.

is that he reminds me of Osi in his first year, long and fast. As Osi gained weight, power and pass rushing moves he became the player we all remember.

Actually I didn't get that from Patty. Apparently great minds think alike.

The roughing is a no-call against a player with a rep.
Clay Mathews III?
As for Carter, he is gaining Williams/Kennard status.....but that was a lot of promise that never was fulfilled....

Carter is way better than Kennard or Williams. Excellent 3rd round pick for DG.
He can rush the passer and is quick enough to be able to cover as an edge 3-4 OLB. Right now, he has been strictly used as a pass rusher due to being so green.
As was mentioned previously, with a year under the system and in the weight room, this kid is looking like a definite starter and above average player in the near future. Looking forward to watching his progress each game.

Do you often seen huge steps up in years 2 and 3 on this team?

Well Tomlinson, Engram, and Apple too huge steps backwards. Does that count?

I agree, also saw Vernon with his hands on hips a few plays where it looked like he really didnt give a crap.
