Is it possible that he's simply been dealing with injury?
His performance the first half of this season is an outlier compared to the rest of his career. He was mentioned on several injury reports if I'm not mistaken but didn't actually miss time. Then his best performance of the season is after the BYE week.
as the pocket being pushed back into his rusher as has been explained here and other places. Brown had a few bad plays yesterday but he made a huge difference in a good way.
He actually had the highest grade in the NFL this week Â
because OL at his age can be productive into their mid 30s, so he might see the end of his contract. Certainly draft a possible heir-apparent, but in the meantime, let’s hope we can reasonably count on him moving forward

Not terrible, but I saw him whiff on the goal-line and get pushed back on a few other occasions. He's not great, but I think he could be decent depth. He reminds me of Richburg quite a bit. Athletic guy, but lacks the requisite strength to man the middle, especially with a NT lined up over his head.
He was over compensating and trying to do to much because Hernandez was (is) still learning? Maybe it is starting to click for Hernandez and Solder can just concentrate on his own job?
Geoff Schwartz thought Solder's struggles were because he was used to blocking for Brady who didn't drop back as deep as the Giants have Eli drop back, and so Solder was guiding his man right into Eli at a depth that would have been a couple yards behind Brady.
There was also talk about him dealing with an injury. Perhaps he cleaned up the first part and is feeling better.
Additionally, the interior of the line played much, much better than in Weeks 1-8 and so Eli was actually able to step up at times, which helps Solder keep his man away from a sack/hit.
RE: Chad Wheeler also had his best game of season Â
in prior threads, I'm sure...recollection is that he was middling, ok, not a disaster, but the Gs had on either side may have shielded his performance (and I can't name them offhand! ): )
anyone actually hoping against this team showing serious signs of life, and that means winning games, is out of their fucking mind. The losing and shittyness here is a malignant cancer right now. It needs to stop. This team needs to win games and players need to perform. That includes guys like solder and yes, even Eli Manning. Fucking deal with picking 8th it it means this team actually started to find its way over these next 8 weeks.
This 1-7 shit is fucking gross. Enough. Win games.
The addition of Jamon Brown played a huge part in the overall performance of the offensive line. I saw a few occasions where he rescued Pulley. His block and blitz pickup on the first td was a beautiful play. If the Giants add a good center in free agency and re-sign Brown then I expect the entire line to take a big step forward next season. Wheeler and Pulley will hopefully be backups next year providing solid depth.

That's what I found.
Havenstein, Matthews,Lewan, and Marpet have already signed extensions. Mewhort has retired.
Bucs LT Donovan Smith. He is a decent LT but he would be a much better fit on the right side. He is young and would be a similar signing to Kareem McKenzie IMO. Plus he offers versatility. If Solder or the next LT is injured Smith could move to the left side.
Their D is 10th overall in yards/game and 12th in sacks, which are surprisingly good numbers for a 2-7 team. Neither DE (Thomas and Armstead) has been particularly good rushing the passer though. DT Buckner leads them with 6 sacks.
Exactly. Good post.

He's awful.
He needs to play well. Hopefully he does from now on.

*slow clap*
A legit pass rusher takes him to the woodshed every time.

You never applaud yourself.

I think Jones is a UFA. He just signed the RFA tender last offseason and I don't think the Vikes have extended him.

1 out of C Mitch Morse, Nick Easton
plus sign a backup on a prove it type of deal like OT Seantrel Henderson, OT Jake Fisher, OT Cedric Ogbuehi, G AJ Cann, OT George Fant.
