The Cardinals lost another starting interior lineman for the season, forcing another shakeup. The team announced that guard Justin Pugh is going to injured reserve, after suffering a left knee injury in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. Pugh, who was signed to a five-year, $45 million contract this offseason to stabilize the line, joins center A.Q. Shipley on IR. Shipley suffered a knee injury in training camp. Pugh had also missed two games this year because of a hand injury. |
And no, I dont feel bad for Busted Pew.
I didn’t chuckle, but I did break a slight smile
Almost as sad as ripping off senior citizens

I chuckled reading the thread topic... Is anyone surprised by this?

I'm not surprised and it seems like the Giants made the right decision, but I definitely feel bad for the guy. Has always been a good teammate and I'm sure this is incredibly frustrating for him.

"Stabalize" and have no ragrets.
He had no chance in McAdoo’s “uproot the DTs when they know a dive up the middle is coming” approach.
And...like Pugh...the inevitable injury. He still looks like he’s 280 max.
Now he has injured his left knee. With all of his other injuries I bet he retires after only about 8 years in the league. He will be out of the league by 2021, IMHO
I wish him well tho''
This is 100% i hated they hit kept getting hurt glad he got a good contract elsewhere but that always stuck with me
Pretty appropriate for this fucking guy.
A long term deal for Pugh given his injury trajectory was a huge risk. It is fortunate for us, we didn't take that risk, but I would like to see Pugh be successful.
I thought he was a good giant.
I'm glad we didn't re-sign him, but I don't get the vitriol.

Agree with this.

He was a pretty good player for us when healthy, and played any position asked of him without complaint.

Petty sniping by infantile pseudo-fans.
Pugh plyed fairly well for Giants, although probably not consistently commensurate with his draft status. Injury bug was legitimate concern re: not re-signing him.
After that it seemed like nothing but injuries and constant talking while he never took his game to the next level.
Last year, the season might have gotten off to a different start if the Giants had opened camp with him at T (left or right). He was easily their best lineman. Another personnel botch job from that front office/coaching staff.
I have absolutely nothing against Justin Pugh the player.
He was a good player for us...he played hard when he could and it's not like he gets hurt on purpose.
Not what I'd call a dominant force on our line, and I didn't have any problems with letting him go. But I find it odd that anyone would feel some kind of schadenfreude about this.
