it’s usually preferred not to play on artificial turf. You probably see it in the US more than anywhere else. Since Azteca is home to at least two club teams and their national team, they would never put turf down. It doesn’t always make sense to me when you see so many poorly-maintained soccer fields but many say artificial turf changes the game too much.

I saw the Cruz Azul game while at a restaurant and couldn't believe the condition of the field for that game. I play pickup soccer on better fields than that.
I live in L.A., and I might see if there are tickets for the game and try to talk my wife and daughter into coming with me. (Fat chance.) I figure it should be a helluva night, and MNF starts pretty early, L.A. time.
How in the hell are they just finding out about the stadium being unfit for play a week before the game was supposed to happen?
That's pretty much exactly how the timing works when a field is damaged beyond repair. If it had happened sooner, they would have fixed it. It's not really that complicated.
I see what you did there.
Hahaha well done.
That... is a great question. Wouldn’t doubt it with the political climate
I believe I read there was a concert there on the 11th that destroyed the field.

And soccer games too I believe. I’m kinda surprised they didn’t install field turf since if it was successful the nfl would milk that cow dry

Are you saying Mike Francesa is wrong!?!?
