LT Nate Solder -- November 14, 2018

Q: What is the biggest challenge to go up against a guy with that length? (Pierre-Paul)
A: There’s plenty of people with length. I think it’s the quality of the player. He can move great, he understands football, he plays really well, he has great ability, absolutely.

Q: Do you see him [Pierre-Paul] lining up on both sides?
A: Yeah, a lot of my side, and a little bit on the other side. Mostly on my side.

Q: Have you watched some of the tape on him this year?
A: Yes, I have.

Q: What is he doing well?
A: He’s playing well. He’s got tremendous talent and ability. He plays within the system. They’re putting him in a place to be successful. He can run around guys, he can run through guys, he’s got both of those qualities.

Q: Coach (Pat) Shurmur said that he thought this was the best game the offensive line has played. What’s your thoughts on his comments?
A: That’s always the goal, to play your best game the next game. Our focus has to be 100 percent on playing Tampa Bay. It can’t be what we did, what we didn’t do. We need to take the things we did well, keep doing them, taking things we didn’t do well and improve them.

Q: What came together so well that you think you will be able to use going forward?
A: The thing is we got to keep getting better, and I think we have gotten better. This has got to be another week. We can’t stay stagnant, we can’t get worse. We got to keep continuing to improve.

Q: There were a lot of runs called in the first half. Would you say that kind of helps an offensive line get going?
A: Yeah, and there were some plays that we made and things like that that happen. We’re working hard to prepare for this game. We’re doing the things that we need to do. Hopefully, we can have another outing where we have some positive plays, or some good protection, some things that we really are working hard to do.

Q: What was it like to be on the winning side of an Eli Manning game-winning drive?
A: The Giants is a team that I’ve watched for a long time. I started watching in high school. They had a good guy named (Former Giants TE) Jeremy Shockey. I was a tight end, so I enjoyed watching him play. I’ve watched Eli for a long time. Every season he’s doing everything he needs to do. I felt very fortunate to be a part of this team.
Making me feel very old...

"They had a good guy named (Former Giants TE) Jeremy Shockey."

Shockey feels fairly recent to me...but clearly he's not. Time flies when you hit 60's.

I'm more of a "they had this guy named Bob Tucker, from Hazleton PA, many years ago..." guy.
Shockey was a good

player but not really a good guy. That makes me feel old too and I’m 39. It’s like he’s talking about seeing Jim Thorpe play.
