Pass Rush

JPP would have been as good this year in our 3-4 Defense? If not, the money saved and the draft pick may turn out to be a blessing in disguise - fingers crossed. But I totally agree with you, where the heck is our pass rush? Then again keep in mind who is rushing the passer and who covers the middle of the field 😖

But saying he doesn't fit here is just false justification, like the rest of the league we spend most of the game in nickel with 4 down, where a DEs job is no different

And any 4-3 end can play 3-4 outside backer if all you do is ask him to rush and maybe take a short zone drop once in a while just to surprise them and maybe get a swat (which JPP is more than capable of)

Plays good every other year, that's not worth keeping around on the contract he held

But it netted us a 3rd rounder whom we used on Hill. Hill being an immediate contributor and on a rookie contract has enabled us to move Snacks for a fifth.

Vernon as the #1 pass rush threat isn't scaring anyone. Barwin has seemingly very little left in the tank. Zo looks great as an all around player an excellent draft pick with some pass rush but he isn't a pure pass rusher.

Guys Like Mauro and Martin and Vernon would be much more effective with someone other teams feared as a pass rusher.

The upcoming draft has a lot of matches for Giants needs including Pass rush, CB and top notch LBers. Just not as great on QB and OL.

Zach Allen - #20 overall

But if Bosa is sitting there, waiting to be taken, it might be another Barkley kind of dilemma for the Giants again.

" Barkley kind of dilemma": non-existent. Barkley was the only pick last draft and the Giants were more than fortunate he was still there. Is Bosa that good (Barkely good I mean)? Then be thankful if he's still there for them. I kind of doubt, though, both prongs of this. It seems unlikely he'll be there when the Giants pick and anyway it's doubtful he's comparable to Barkley, who may be one of the true great backs.

I was very excited to see Vernon and JPP as outside backers with the offense not knowing where the pressure was coming from. Disappointed at the trade but I understand why it was made.

8 sacks? Means nothing....he has always been a stat machine, not an enforcer, like Strahan.....

I just saw Goodson get credited with two int's....he is as great in coverage as JPP is a stud pass rusher....

to next year. He has 6 QB hits and 5 TFL along with his 2 sacks. I think he will be in double digits in sacks next year.
