As a Tallahassee resident, I am all too familiar with Winston. And I get to see a lot of the Bucs' broadcasts.
He has always had turnover issues, and I know what has happened this year. But he still has showed his talent and is, fundamentally, the same guy that beat the Giants last year, before the injuries became an excuse.
Fitzpatrick hasn't won a game since Sept 16. With eight interceptions of his own in his last 4 starts, it's simply not plausible to make turnovers the reason for keeping him in there.
That leaves the issue of Winston's $20M option being guaranteed for injury and the Bucs wanting out, for reasons going beyond Winston's play on the field.
Winston won't get paid by the Bucs but he will get paid by someone. And he will get paid a whole lot more on the open market than Fitzpatrick.
when you get healthy and hit your stride. Sometimes the season's over. The Giants - right now - seem to be healthy and starting to click. They need to run the table - but I think 9-7 gets them in.

As someone who watched first hand the debacle from 1964 - 1980, I will tell you that the biggest frustration is when certain pieces of the puzzle are fixed, but others are not thus undermining the puzzle pieces you have in place.
But it all begins with the right General Manager and the right Head Coach. And Eric from BBI is right to question Gettleman and Shurmur.
but the Giants need to come out like gang-busters and get their first home win this year somehow. Im not as concerned about the offense as I am the Defense. It seems like every time this team scores, the defense allows the other team to drive the field for another score. They cant get the other team off the field on third downs. Bettcher has to do a much better job of creating pressure and mixing up coverages. Fitz, although not great, can still play QB and keep drives alive. TOP in this game is crucial and so if we can control the clock, get a ground game going and score in the RedZone, itll give us a great chance of coming out on top. Id hate to get beaten by a last minute FG again!
