Fantasy Football Discussion NOV 17

pjcas18 : 11/17/2018 12:20 pm
Just a couple roster questions on a slow fantasy football day.

PPR:

TE:
Trey Burton vs MIN
or
Jordan Reed vs HOU

Flex (or RB2):
Dalvin Cook @CHI
or
Kerryon Johnson vs CAR

I could start both of them over Kenny Golladay vs CAR - so one would be flex one RB2.

Trey Burton
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 12:24 pm : link
has been alot better of a fantasy TE than Reed this season. Kerryon has been more durable and productive than Cook, though Cook is in the better offense and has more explosive potential.

I think I'd go Burton and K. Johnson.
Thanks
pjcas18 : 11/17/2018 12:26 pm : link
right now I have Burton and Cook, but Vikings going against CHI I might swap in KJ.

Thanks again.
Vernon Davis
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 12:27 pm : link
also poaches too many targets away from Reed, for some reason.
Cook isn't a bad play
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 12:28 pm : link
and if he remains healthy is the better runner... it's just that he has had such difficulty staying healthy... meanwhile Johnson has been trending upwards.
Allen Robinson or TY Hilton
NYG27 : 11/17/2018 12:53 pm : link
In a PPR league.
Cook is healthy
allstarjim : 11/17/2018 12:54 pm : link
And is the better player right now. I don't see the Bears defense as too prohibitive of production for someone like Cook's skillset. I would play Cook this week because I'm only benching the better RB if the matchup difference is significant. Chicago gives up 20 PPR points per game to RBs, but Carolina gives just 20.5. The matchup difference is too insignificant for me to bench Cook. I would play Kerryon over Golladay, however.
Gun to my head

I say T.Y. Andrew Luck is the better QB, and I just have a gut feeling that MIN is going to win this game. Trubisky has been better than I expected, but I think he will struggle looking deep this week.

Good analysis. After reading your breakdown, I would subscribe to the moves you suggested.

Who would you flex...

OJ Howard @ NYG
Courtland Sutton @ LAC
Josh Reynolds vs. KC
DJ Moore @ DET
Probably Howard...
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 1:02 pm : link
All I know is I am off the DJ Moore train for now. Whenever I opt for this guy in DFS, he lets me down. Too hit or miss. Reynolds is kind of an unknown, but he is filling the Cooper Kupp slot, so he potentially could have a nice week in a shootout with KC...

That said, I have seen the Giants shutdown a decent TE, yet, and Howard has ability. Fitzpatrick will sling it on Sunday.

Yeah, right now I am rolling with Howard.

I think I saw that LAR are actually going to slide Woods inside and play Reynolds on the outside. McVay seems to think pretty highly of him - it's a good matchup too, but I probably need to see how he's used before I deploy him.

I don't think I'd even really consider Moore - just threw him into the mix for the hell of it.
I really liked Moore when he was drafted.
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 1:18 pm : link
But, he really hasn't worked his way into the Carolina offense as a permanent fixture... and it's not like he has world beaters he is competing against for targets. Funchess is mediocre, to me. Samuels plays that Tavon Austin WR/RB hybrid role... Torrey Smith/Jarius Wright? It's a mystery why Moore can't see more targets, but maybe he simply is too raw.
Which defense??
OBJRoyal : 11/17/2018 1:28 pm : link
Bears vs Vikes

Ravens vs Bengals
I'm rolling with the Ravens myself this week.
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 1:31 pm : link
The Bengals have been turning the ball over a lot lately. Minnesota's offense is pretty good too, though the game is in Chicago and the Bears D is overall a better defense. Tough call, but I think Baltimore may be the safer pick.
who to flex
Mr. Nickels : 11/17/2018 3:31 pm : link
Kerryon Collins or Mack

I’d say Kerryon or Mack.
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 3:37 pm : link
If it’s a PPR league than probably Mack.

Thanks
I’m still struggling with my def choice

Carolina vas’s DET
Or
Chargers vs Denver

Chargers are slated to get more 12.33 vs 9.47

Bosa is back. Going against the # q team and need a win.
I’d go Chargers.
Keaton028 : 11/17/2018 4:40 pm : link
Carolina looked awful on defense against Pittsburgh (granted it’s Pittsburgh)

One thing to think about, Detroit has been having issues protecting Stafford the past few weeks
RB Question
OBJRoyal : 11/18/2018 7:08 am : link
Have Mixon, who by all accounts should be benched against the Ravens.

is it worth sitting him for someone like Lamar Miller??
Anyone please help
JFIB : 11/18/2018 8:00 am : link
Should I start Big Ben or Cam Newton today? I choose wrong last week and would have won if I started Ben. Thoughts?
Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. us
Mike in NY : 11/18/2018 8:06 am : link
Kirk Cousins vs. Chicago

Who should I start at QB? 20 yards per point passing, 10 yards per point rushing, -2 per turnover, 6 points per TD

In theory Cam has the better matchup, but Jax has actually been a bottom 10 team versus QB’s since Week 6 and Ben will likely be passing more depending on Conner. Carolina really has started to run more. I go with Ben
