Feeling Good Today About the Giants?

M.S. : 11/18/2018 8:56 am
A bad Tampa team is coming in wounded and can definitely be had.

Then, again, the Giants are 0-4 at home this season, averaging a mere 14.75 points a game and losing by an average margin of 12 points.

In these four games, Eli has thrown for an average of 269 yards with a 64% completion rate. That's the good news. He's also been sacked 16 times at home while throwing just 2 TD passes and 4 interceptions.

Keep Eli clean and Giants probably win.

Go Big Blue!
Giants by 4 or more

31 - 27, Giants best game of the year.
I suspect none of these college QB’s are worth a damn
Oscar : 11/18/2018 9:14 am : link
So I am over the draft pick thing and just want to see the Giants play decently. Today is certainly a winnable game.
31-23 Giants..

3-7 going into Philly who will be 4-6.
Not really.
Gman11 : 11/18/2018 9:34 am : link
A lot of articles about how the Giants improved after the bye, but it just might have been the sorry competition that made them look good. The Bucs aren't a whole lot better than the 49ers, but they can put up points. Earlier in the year the Giants offense was supposed to get out of its rut against lousy defenses against the Saints and Falcons. That didn't happen. Just because the Bucs defense stinks doesn't mean the Giants are going to light it up.
Second of 8 in a row.

How delicious would it be if we were to essentially end their season by beating them, further cementing how much of a fluke their 2017 really was?

I m a Giants fan in PA, aince 56. All my cousins and uncles growing up were Eagle fans.

No one hates the Eagles more than me.

That said, have a quotient you.

How d you feel when people , many people, called 11 and even 07, flukes

You don't win a Super Bowl by fluke.

Giants did a lot of good things in 07 prior to Tyree, to be is a situation to take advantage of that unusual play
I assume Jenkins will cover DJac with Webb on Evans.......
Simms11 : 11/18/2018 10:08 am : link
I don’t really like those matchups. Perhaps Lippet, a taller CB can get some time covering Evans? Also Collins on Howard and Brate is also not a good matchup. If Fitz gets time it’ll be more of the same on D and they will be moving the ball up and down the field. The biggest issue with Tampa’s offense has been turnovers and up until last week, we haven’t done to well on Defense in that category either. Pressure normally contributes to getting turnovers and so I hope Bettcher has a better plan to pressure Fitz today. I don’t want our old nemesis DJac ruining our Home party today. Lastly, the Giants have to be at least up by 4 with 3-4 minutes remaining, because they’ll have the ability to move the ball ad I’m sure they’d be capable of getting into that FG range very easily!
I want to

In looking at the schedule
Matt in SGS : 11/18/2018 10:14 am : link
if I had to circle one game in which the Giants would/could actually win in a blowout, this is the one, and I thought that from the beginning of the season. Remember, even the Bills laid the wood to the Jets last week with a 4th string QB. The last time the Giants really handled a team, you actually have to go back to 2014 when they blew out the Titans in Tennessee, 31-7. The law of averages says it's going to happen sometime and I think the Giants break out today and win this one 35-14. But the rest of the season....I think they might win another game, maybe 2 and that's it.

It felt good to see the Giants win again last week. I know it's probably not in our best interest to win again, but I missed that feeling and once the clock starts, I'll be rooting for us to get another one.

If we don't? No real harm done.
Not confident
Sammo85 : 11/18/2018 10:21 am : link
This Bucs team has issues for sure.

But it’s much much more talented than the depleted Niners team we faced.

They have ability to get yardage and put up big plays and rush the passer.

Their secondary is terrible but if Eli doesn’t have enough time it won’t matter.

I think we play well but lose a close one.
they will have to control
jeffusedtobeonwebtv : 11/18/2018 11:08 am : link
JPP. If the O-line does not give Eli time, the team is in big trouble. Otherwise they should have a good chance.

The other thing they have to do is get turnovers. Tampa Bay seems to be a team that amasses yardage but does not score because they turn the ball over. The Giants have not been good at this until the 2 interception game in San Francisco.

They do score. Tampa averaging 26 per game. Last week they didn’t score
Last “we’ll see”

game of the year.

General consensus is it takes until week 9 to start feeling comfortable in a new system. Both the O and D showed signs of assignment football last week.

I’m also rooting for wins, and for the team to run the table and make the tourney at 9-7. But my head says we beat a bad 49ers team on a 3rd string rookie QB. In recent history we’d come out today & lay an egg. For the last time all year, we’ll see.

First game in years I'll be missing due to flight home. Hopefully I'll be happy when I land. I got it all DVRed up. A win & I'll watch, a lose & I'll delete.
Whenever we feel good Giants lay an egg

reality check coming. we didnt start turning a corner. sf sucks. we suck. still.
Don't expect much ..
Bluesbreaker : 11/18/2018 12:24 pm : link
I think they will pull this out likely an ugly sort of game
Just maybe the offense gets the run going and the defense
can get off the field on third down .
A Few Weeks Ago I Thought The Giants Would Lose This Game...
Jim in Tampa : 11/18/2018 12:24 pm : link
But the Bucs have been trending downward and the Giants have to have gained at least SOME confidence with last week's win.

Giants win 23-17 and I'll be able to wear my gear around Tampa with pride ;>)
I know nothing about the respective records of any NFL team
baadbill : 11/18/2018 12:52 pm : link
other than the Giants because I simply don't care about the NFL other than the Giants. I've lost all interest in the NFL and the Giants this season - other than to watch the game itself.

As for the game, I want to be entertained. I want the Giants to play well - provide me with some plays that make me cheer for a moment. But the second the game is over, the TV is off - before a single player can shake hands - and I'm done with the Giants (and the NFL) until the next game.
