same question as always: Can we block? I'd like to see Brown continue to develop. Solder and Wheeler were also solid on Monday, and the 49ers have a decent front.
I hate this bend but dont break crappy D. We get killed every game in TOP and it not only limits our offensive opportunities, but tires out the D, leading to pooorer fourth quarter defense too.
All you guys think its a no brained to use a challenge for 8 freakin yards in the first quarter? Yeah, lets fire the coach for passing up a possible 8 yard improvement in field position in the first quarter.
Good lord you guys overreact to everything and anything
On the defense hustled to get a clear recovery of the ball. Bucs would have stayed in field goal range, and it resulted in a 3rd and 11. Reasonable not to challenge in that situation.
I'm surprised our guys (and the Bucs) were slow to dive for it. If the refs called it a pass, they probably blew the play dead as soon as the ball hit the ground. At that point, was the play reviewable?

Yup, and just a little success running the ball makes such a difference. 2 carries by Saquon to get a 1st down when pinned deep. 6 yards for Gallman on 1st down.
Yeah we all know its not the 85 Bears, but still fun to watch

No need for a timeout here and it gives TB a chance to contest the play and the ball will probably be moved back.
But if they are punting inside the 40 with a minute left to end the half, I can't be confident that they'll make enough good decisions to win the game.
But punting the ball in that spot when youre 2 and fucking 7 is absolutely ludicrous. Play to win the damn game.
even if we were 7-2 I think it's a dumb call. with a minute left you know the other team is going to put it up so you have to defend the whole field - making it easier for the offense to drive down for 3. you might as well go for it and try to keep possession.

This is where I disagree. You coach the game to win the game. It has nothing to do with your record. Only a fan would say "fuck it"... we have nothing to lose.
Meanwhile, if they failed to make it and Tampa got points with the short field half of BBI would be saying he should fired for that too.
Is really a lousy coach. There are just too many things every game where he makes some obvious mistakes. For the guys saying why didn't we take a knee at the end of the half, good question. His use of the time and timeouts is really bad.
Shurmur has to get them more involved in 2nd half. Barkley getting used a ton in this game. Finally showing a running game. This is an Defense we can pass against too.
I just dont know why Shurmur didnt go for it at the Bucs 37 with 3 and 2?
Vernon. That call has to go away. Fitzpatrick leaned into Vernon or else Fitz is hit in the armpit besides the fact it was his facemask that hit Fitzpatrick. There needs to be some common sense on these calls. They did not call the hit on the Giants return man on a definite hit with the crown.
Holy shit how are they not calling 69 for holding. Vernon beat him inside so bad that he reached out to grab Vernon. How do they not see that?

Bullshit. Tampa hasnt been able to stop them all day. And they havent been able to stop Tampas offense. Two yards is easy pickings against that defense. Id much rather they go down fighting than playing passively.
Let me ask you something. How many of todays successful coaches punt in that situation? You think McVay punts there? Payton? Reid? Belichick? Who? You dont win in todays NFL by being passive. You have to score freakin points.
Excellent play from the O, especially the OL. Good ST, although I wish the KOs were a little deeper. D has been gashed, but at least got some pressure. And we got a TO.
that has been getting killed all game shouldn't act like idiots when they finally make a play.
You really think celebrating a big play like that with the whole D together is acting like idiots? I didn't see anything over the top or idiotic, just enthusiasm, and celebrating.
RE: 11-12 for Eli with throws to 8 different receivers
He really does suck. Eli under center and we go up 14-0. Then he puts him in shotgun because thats what he likes. No more points and cant move the chains.
Is really a lousy coach. There are just too many things every game where he makes some obvious mistakes. For the guys saying why didn't we take a knee at the end of the half, good question. His use of the time and timeouts is really bad.

Agree with this, you have to coach the way or feel the way the game is going..giants o is moving the ball with ease this game..you dont punt.
but the way Tampa has been moving (and did move on that last drive) he was protecting the field. I can see going for it and I can see punting, which was actually the more correct decision.
If your sole purpose is to shit on Shurmur, then yes whatever he did would be wrong. But it is also not worth losing your shit over.
Hey except for a pass to Barkley that should have been a TD, ELi played a great half. I also think Eli was throwing to Barkley's outside shoulder to protect the ball from the safety. In all likelihood it was Barkley that turned the wrong way.

Let me ask you something - how the hell do you know what they do in that situation? All you know is what YOU want to do. You do not know what they would do. And every coach you named there has a much better team and players than Shurmur has, don't they?
Maybe so, and I get the criticism of him. He's done some questionable at best things this year but one thing can't be denied is he has these guys playing hard every game. No one has quit in spite of the lousy start, and that's a big positive on his side of the ledger IMO.
I don't know if that's enough to make a good coach but it's something to credit and build on.

Oh no... don't move the goal post as usual. My response to you was bout your claim that our record plays into the decision as to whether to go for it.
and I will probably start a thread on it tonight. Look at some of these guys in the secondary who are playing fairly well this year. Webb, Riley, Thomas...
Caught at highpoint. For as bad as hes been hes better then Thompson and thats not saying much, but if he can make more plays on the ball, it would go a long way for this D.
We are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop, the GIANTS Zone!
35, was fucking horrid on that inside WR screen to get a first. He just washed himself out of the play. But, that is why they play four quarters. Glad he finally made a play.
RE: This is why Ryan Fitzpatrick will never be a starting level QB
For a guy who's supposedly extremely extremely intelligent he's the master of the bone headed play.
It's weird, he's hung around in the league because typically when he comes in he screws the nut for two games or so before he starts turning the ball over.
Didn't stop some of the BBI MENSA members to do the mental gymnastics trying to justify the logic in signing Fitz next year after releasing Eli in the offseason.

You do the math. We will eat $6.2M by releasing Eli. Now, you will have to sign Fitz and his trash abilities. Keep in mind we don't need the cap space. We will have an estimated $31M in cap space if we do nothing this offseason. So the justification that we'll save Eli's salary doesn't hold any water. You still have to pay Fitz or another slob.
Weve experienced multiple plays like that this year. The ball just steers clear of our players?! I guess we could of been more aggressive there going after the fumble!
Who cares about the dance? Obviously you do but give me the TD and a player can do whatever the fuck they want as long as they don't get flagged for it.
I was so pissed at the miss on the first play last week

I'm a happy man when that's all we can come up with to bitch about
Anyone still thinks that is a good deal? Tomlinson and Hill have been embarrassing in the middle. No pressure,no ability to get push, getting gashed in the middle with two high draft picks.
Fucking pathetic defensive effort. If youre expecting this team to go on a run, you can freaking forget it. The defense sucks and cannot get the other team off the field. Terrible tackling, poor assignment play, lack of communication, etc. just pathetic. They need a lot of help on defense this off-season. Its not just Oline and QB.

Where are the LBers? They need to fill gaps and fucking tackle in a 3-4 Defense.
and then the backwards plays start. That is one thing I dislike about Shurmurs calls. The 1st 1st down of a drive sets up the entire drive. And Eli cannot let himself get sacked there.
Head scratching play calling. OBJ was probably the first read on that play, but there were 3 defenders bearing down on him. Then Eli holds the ball too long on 3rd down. Wtf is Engram? Shouldnt he or Shep be go to guys on 3rd down?
RE: I swear some people think defensive coordinators
It is a good thing that Gettleman got rid of Apple and Harrison. Best DB and DL players, leaving team with huge defensive holes, exactly what is needed to make winning difficult, if not impossible.
Barkley is the new primary play maker on the team. They are both great.
Why the fuck would he be upset? God forbid there's another offensive talent on the team to take attention away from him. I just don't understand comments like these. Has Odell ever shown any sign of being annoyed by another weapon on the team?
Eh, regardless this is more fun than it would be to win 9 to 7 and watch the offense be completely inept, at least it's been exciting and not the usual snoozefest
Not the offense, but the D. They are now a very pathetic unit. Wentz will pick them apart next week and unless were going t start winning shootouts, were not winning out! Fucking Cowboys are also now 5 and 5!
(1) offense made a cameo appearance.
(2) game is almost over.
This is the worst second-half defensive performance I can recall. If the Giants turnover the ball without scoring, TB need only :30 to score game-winning TD.

pass Eli missed was actually ripped by Rflairr and micky.
Not surprisingly
Not surprised at all.
No doubt the pass could've been better but so could the route. You always want your QB throwing that to the outside shoulder, outside the numbers. Throw it inside too much and it can be defended or picked. I'd take that throw to the outside every time and take my chances.
a big game today .
Go Giants !!
Great protection !
Yeah about time we drew up a decent play in the red zone
tomlinson not playing til the end
collins getting beat like a drum.
I dont think it was a fumble. He hand came forward and although he was losing it in the process, the ball landed ahead of him.

I think you might be right. Maybe it's the quality of competition but at least today, this team looks like a machine. Fun to watch.
But I digress

Yeah, looks like we actually need the offense to pour it on to win this.

Barkley with a steady 5 yards per clip. Looking for a 3 and out to start the second half and follow it up with a long drive for a TD.
Not good enough for BBIs resident QB experts, micky and Rflairr.

This is where I disagree. You coach the game to win the game. It has nothing to do with your record. Only a fan would say "fuck it"... we have nothing to lose.
Meanwhile, if they failed to make it and Tampa got points with the short field half of BBI would be saying he should fired for that too.
Agree with this, you have to coach the way or feel the way the game is going..giants o is moving the ball with ease this game..you dont punt.

Eli sucks. He was only 11 for 12. He missed one throw. Where are all the Eli haters.
Wynn has had a really nice season
Thanks!
Just go to Reddit and look up NFL Streams

Let me ask you something - how the hell do you know what they do in that situation? All you know is what YOU want to do. You do not know what they would do. And every coach you named there has a much better team and players than Shurmur has, don't they?
Now they can do that and get us a 3 TD lead!
Crazy ain't such a rare moment
Consider don't talk at all?
Now go back to sleep.
Um.. all of us? Lol

I vow for the rest of the day I'm gonna try really hard to not talk any shit about the defense

Oh no... don't move the goal post as usual. My response to you was bout your claim that our record plays into the decision as to whether to go for it.
lol
PC pussies don't watch sports, they're spending their Sunday at some civil rights rally chasing the boogeyman
lol I hope they do not make him apologize for that - he clarified what he was trying to say -
"You have to throw it to the white shirts".
I dunno, I take 2nd and 14.
I dunno, I take 2nd and 14.
no doubt. decline the penalty.
These guys have made plays this year.
And then another offsides to ice the cake.
Maybe if these guys didnt have diarrhea of the mouth, they wouldnt make these mistakes.
Welp.. that's what I get
1st a 30... one play for a first down, never seen that before
Oh look and an encroachment before the next snap
yep. danger zone for us.
Whats Brennemans excuse
- Move the ball between the 20's
- Then have failed 4th down plays
- Weird turnovers
- Bad holding penalties
That guy is fuckin drunk
Egg on my face.
Jameis incoming, I bet.
35 sucks, but even a stopped watch is right twice a day. WTF kinda throw was that.
Nobody did, I don't think they even have any white skill position players on the field
hahaha, it was fun while it lasted. But, what the hell was that, it was like punting
Now go back to sleep.
Fucking genius isn't he probably giving BJ's on Jerry Bus
even worse, they let Riley jog for 30 yards out of the end zone.
Jameis incoming, I bet.
That was weird, I guess their mics gave.
Good call, Dep!
Put the other Buccs QB in!

Wouldn't playing with house money mean it was a free play??

35, was fucking horrid on that inside WR screen to get a first. He just washed himself out of the play. But, that is why they play four quarters. Glad he finally made a play.
For a guy who's supposedly extremely extremely intelligent he's the master of the bone headed play.
It's weird, he's hung around in the league because typically when he comes in he screws the nut for two games or so before he starts turning the ball over.
Yup. For a moment I thought his arm was hit, but I didn't see anything. It looked like he was playing catch in the backyard.
OOps, Spielman is back
Lol
He might not be able to articulate well what he means but the guy knows football. He called that screen pass and was spot on.
Didn't stop some of the BBI MENSA members to do the mental gymnastics trying to justify the logic in signing Fitz next year after releasing Eli in the offseason.

Yes compare them at 50 million to 1 dollar
I'll take Eli 12x out of 10
Still Eli held onto to the ball too long. What do you want .00002 seconds. He did have .00001 seconds to throw the ball.

True, what a bum.. then again a good QB would've just hee-man flexed and all the dlineman would go flying off him
I guess they just really didn't want to risk field position of TB starting at the 42.

False, a good QB would've put the ball down.. went and hit a few blocks, came back for the ball and then throw it
Fuck that was brutal
yeah just saw that... really too bad.
Look at our roster on defense
OK offense, still have to do a lot of work today.

Need to play some offense.

Weve experienced multiple plays like that this year. The ball just steers clear of our players?! I guess we could of been more aggressive there going after the fumble!
Yeah it is. Talk about fluky coinidences:
Riley has the ball bounce to him and cannot recover the fumble.
I don't think we have any plans of getting another touchdown, I've beeb watching the giants for too long.. they want this to end 24-14
Give it a rest...

If Dallas and the Eagles lose today then probably.
Looks like Cam Newton is hurt as well. He's holding his knee.
Exactly. I not sure what people are seeing there besides the luxury of watching 6 times in slow motion.
Itits horrendous ! Bettcher not blitzing that much. Id like to see more Collins on blitzes
The dinosaur offense working for us lol
X2
Tell me about it
Hes declining 😉

Can't say anything about the game Bettcher has called, he's got a shit roster on defense, has given up 14 points and got 7 of their own
Bettcher has proven his worth time and time again to me
It's a contest with all armatures.
Agreed. He went after it with his hands but no doubt it bounced weird in him.
I watched a lot of Sayers and Barkley has the same qualities.
He's blocking, he's catching and he's scoring. He can do any dance he wants!
That was allll obj!!!! 😁😁😁
It's just a typo

Eli Manning is 15 of 16 for 179 yards and 2 TDs.
Passer rating is 152.9.
Nearly perfect.
Still 37 years olds
Has he had an incomplete pass other than the miss to Barkley?
She had a #26 jersey...screw her.
Better Oline play, but also crappy Defenses were going up against

Nope. 15-16, 179, 2 TDs
We can save the Bucs arent any good excuses for later. Fun watching our hall of fame QB playing his best.
Who cares about the dance? Obviously you do but give me the TD and a player can do whatever the fuck they want as long as they don't get flagged for it.

I'm a happy man when that's all we can come up with to bitch about
By the way, both of these defenses are pretty terrible.

Makes you wonder what they discuss to determine that it needs to be picked up when its flagrent
Haha yup, funny how that works
Bad tackling.
Put pressure on the offense, make them keep going, I want 40

He made a business decision to make it look like he was in the wash. He let Barber run right by him.
Yep...
I just texted these exact words to my son. Wtf
Where are the LBers? They need to fill gaps and fucking tackle in a 3-4 Defense.
Run defense, its a big part
How can you evaluate the DC with these players out there?
The whole picture on defense is muddied at best
Not bad for a unit of mostly nobodys that's not at all built to win
That 2nd down call isnt gonna fool anyone. You think they are going to leave OBJ alone?
Yeah, noticed that
Redskins gave up 500 to tampa
That 2nd down call isnt gonna fool anyone. You think they are going to leave OBJ alone?
My thoughts exactly, no they won't follow him... and you leave your QB pigeon holed into one read that's covered up
brown got tripped up by Pulley as he was on roller skates back into Eli's lap
Officiating is officially random in the NFL.
✅
Havent stopped their run game
where are the quick slants . Engram ????
Shepard ??
Then you knew they would give up a sack!
Head scratching play calling. OBJ was probably the first read on that play, but there were 3 defenders bearing down on him. Then Eli holds the ball too long on 3rd down. Wtf is Engram? Shouldnt he or Shep be go to guys on 3rd down?
So you're saying we should've retained Spags? or Johnny Lynn...Tim Lewis?
In his defense that is Gerlad McCoy right there
I thought the same. I thought defensive players were not allowed to hit/tackle a QB in the pocket below the knee.
They get paid to make adjustments to stop plays, like calling a freaking blitz every now and again.
That was fast
all year
And another holding call missed.
Quote:
are the ones who actually make the plays. It's like there's no consideration given to who's on the roster.

Doesn't mean they have the roster to be good at it.
This!!!
How about a blitz!
Love that guy, wish we could've gotten him instead of Engram
Pathetic!
Do these fucking Giants even practice ?
Yeah if Winston started this game we are not up right now
Yep. Knew it the minute Winston came in.
2-Eli throws to double covered OBJ
3-OBJ on the sidelines
unexplicable

That second play was drawn up for OBJ or bust, it was like a pseudo screen
No but 38 is
Sun glasses on a cloudy day?
+10 in the air
OBJ is just tired of losing!
They don't have to play prevent. This is how they always play.
Nope...
What were we in cover 2 zone on that play? Collins didn't get nearly enough depth but regardless if that was the play call..
Horrible time for it, come 3, 4, 6.. let em have the underneath stuff
Those are notvmutually exlusive alternatives. Get rid of your premier defenders mid-season, and now the defense sucks (too).
Na, I mean our roster is trash we've actually seen defenses that played worse.. like pretty recently lol
Why the fuck would he be upset? God forbid there's another offensive talent on the team to take attention away from him. I just don't understand comments like these. Has Odell ever shown any sign of being annoyed by another weapon on the team?
Not the first time in 2 years btw.
Eh, regardless this is more fun than it would be to win 9 to 7 and watch the offense be completely inept, at least it's been exciting and not the usual snoozefest
They burned them trying to save clock during our last TD drive
They kinda wasted one by calling it quickly on the play JPP was hurt
Quote:

(2) game is almost over.
This is the worst second-half defensive performance I can recall. If the Giants turnover the ball without scoring, TB need only :30 to score game-winning TD.
Used them all on the last Giants TD drive..
Good grief. Some of you guys need another hobby, you just dont have the guts to be football fans.
Yup. That TD was on Collins all the way. He has to protect deep.

We know. It eats at your soul that the Giants win and Eli performs well. We get it.
Miserable fuck.

Not surprised at all.
No doubt the pass could've been better but so could the route. You always want your QB throwing that to the outside shoulder, outside the numbers. Throw it inside too much and it can be defended or picked. I'd take that throw to the outside every time and take my chances.
