What was up today with the Kickoffs? They were going to the 10. I think it was intentional because his leg seemed fine on the long FG. Im happy with the the win! Keep going!
Had to be intentional, bc he’s more than capable of Â
booming it out of the end zone. Must have thought they could tackle the returner short of the 25 consistently. Mixed results in the end, but didn’t cost us either way
They looked like they wanted them high rather than far. Â
If you see that one kickoff, Rosas landed weird because he looked like he was lifting the ball as opposed to driving the ball. I think it was by design.
seemed like they were by design but I'd imagine they were 5-7 yards shorter than they wanted. Certainly didn't look like there was any issue with his leg on that FG or on the KO after the penalty. That one clearly would have been out of the end zone in a regular situation.
Teams should more often than not high kick it and force a return, more can go wrong for the return team than can go right, especially with the absurd rate of holding calls on special teams.
They go for high kicks ideally +/- 2 yards from the goalline to force the return. And we've had a top 3 coverage unit this year and gain a few yards of field position (relative to a TB) by doing so.
I agree that the high shorter kickoffs were intentional Â
and like everyone else, I can't help but appreciate his fg kicking. It looks like we got a good young kicker who I hope will be with us for a long time.
If that was their strategy, I'm for it.
