NFT: Islanders at Rangers: 7 PM on MSG+

Anakim : 11/21/2018 12:22 pm
Fuck you dudes (again) for having me create this thread.

The Islanders have won eight straight against the Rangers since Dec. 6, 2016 and they're 12-1-0 against the Rangers since Dec. 2, 2015.

Soooooo I think it's about time the Rangers win one! Get it for us, Georgiev! And let Chytil's streak continue.

It's insane
ShockNRoll : 11/21/2018 12:25 pm : link
and must be how Red Sox fans felt between 1918 and 2004 that they just couldn't beat the Yankees. Hopefully it's not that long for Rangers fans to see things flip. Maybe the only way to beat the Islanders is with ex-Islanders on the team, so I predict a Ryan Strome 4 point performance tonight! Looks like Lehner in net for the Islanders tonight, and I feel good about Georgiev playing this game. I love how this Rangers' team is playing this year, let's keep the good feelings rolling going into Thanksgiving!

has done a remarkable job so far with this Rangers team. Now, he needs to get them over the hump and beat the shit out of the Islanders.

Except the Yankees were usually a great team in that time period. The recent Styx are a blah team.

Ilya Sorokin just broke Shestyorkin's KHL consecutive shutout minutes of 208:30.

Not bad.

Anakim, good job on the thread.

Wow feelflows, sounds like a couple of good goalies on their way to the area in a few years.

I wasn't so sure about him but boy oh boy this guy knows how to coach. He reminds me a little but of Mike Sullivan coach of the Penguins. Of course everyone is wondering what is going on with them right now. Not that I care but it is interesting how the league appears to be passing them by at this point.
Thanks for the thread Anak, but I didn’t need to know...

I can’t believe I didn’t know this already but i don’t read about the Rangers any more... seems like the news feed is filled with amateur bloggers and, frankly, you guys on these Ranger threads know more about hockey and the Rangers than the bloggers do, so I get my news here.

You're awesome, Bill. We love you on the Rangers threads.
Islanders were really bad the other night agains Dallas

Glad to have a Ranger game to get right, but that isn’t going to last forever. Would rather see Henrik in net given recent histiory. These are also the only days I miss Halak.

Let’s go Islanders!!! We need one more win against our little sisters in Manhattan.

That's the hope.. that these two guys come over and their games translate. It could be a fun decade +. How cool would it be if both were competing for NHL records in the same town!

We've already seen what the Rangers could accomplish with an elite goalie. Would be fun to see what the Isles could do

I was a bit off.. it's a CSKA record.. 4th longest in KHL history.. he's well over 210 consecutive minutes. 302 is the record.

Disagree, mon frere. I think 2 goalies who have previously had no skin in this rivalry change things tonight. Taking Hank and Greisser/Halak out of the possibilities methinks changes the equation.

And as much as I would love to see Sorokin shine here, and battle Shesty for years to come, goalies are so damn hard to predict. Especially coming out of the K. You have guys dominate there (Nilsson) who are average to worse here, and guys that have been backups that shine there (look at Johansson also on CSKA - as is Sorokin - who couldn’t advance past the AHL yet leads the KHL with a 10-1 record and a 0.70 GAA and a .970 sv pctg), so no one really knows if anything’s a given with their NHL performances.

lol ... nah, not this time... I'm looking at these next three games as a special package deal ... would be so nice to get three consecutive wins against the Islanders, Flyers and Caps!

Man, I hope you guys are right. I'm getting a litttttttle tired of this ridiculous inability to beat the Islanders. Thought maybe we'd flip the script with AV out of town, but it looked like more of the same last week.

Hopefully we adjust and actually take this one.

The Isles have missed the net so many times tonight. They've had a couple of chances to get a goal or two back and they're just flat out missing.
Rangers kept Islanders SOG down ... nice period...

Not the Isles night at all
Mike from Ohio : 11/21/2018 8:56 pm : link
plenty of chances but couldn’t cash in. Rangers took advantage of their chances. As much as it pains me to say it your team is playing solid hockey.

since it’s his hand ... and I don’t think they have another player for his role... could really impact the chemistry ... esp with the fucking flyers fri
