If he had done the same thing to a 58 year old man who weighed 120 pounds, it would have been brushed under the carpet, especially since the victim kept coming at him
So, there is still sexism involved in the male need to defend the weaker sex
Its good that they are cracking down on violence. Hunt was drunk and out of control. He should face consequences But unfortunately it is still sexist, only most will not be able to see that
The only argument is that this wasn't a very popular opinion, but this opinion did definitely create a catch 22.
Don't be upset because you can't understand simple arguments.
1) Just because something is culture doesn't mean it's a good thing and should be condoned but it can still offer context. Adrian Peterson wasn't brought up in the UES of Manhattan. It doesn't mean that he gets a free pass, but some context is important.
2) I never EVER defended Kareem Hunt or men who abuse women, quite the opposite. All I said that if even criticizing him makes you sexist as one poster insinuated then no you can't win. No matter what you do (defend or criticize) you're sexist.
Neither of these arguments is that difficult to grasp.
You can laugh, but I feel bad for you. When you don't understand simple logic and can't make an argument other than ad hominems and appeals to emotion, it's not an easy way to go through life.
Just stop. When you ask someone how someones cock taste... your true colors really show.
Youre an awful person. Congratulations.
When you insult people in every thread because they happen to have a different SPORTS opinion than you, you're an awful person. Congratulations.
I'm not even the only person you do that to. You like Eli Manning, someone criticizes him, and you insult him. If THAT'S not being an awful person I don't know what is.
What high horse is that? Everyone lives in a bubble, liberal white people are just more pertinent to this discussion. I'm neither liberal nor conservative but most of my friends are liberal and some are conservative. I can tell you neither understands the perspective of the other. I think this is worse with liberals but that may be because most of my friends are liberal.
Peoples character l... I question their fandom. When calling a player on your own team a fucking moron, loser, an idiot, and most importantly a quitter because of some bad plays... then yes fandom questioning Ian in order.
I can see how you say thats equivalent to sucking ones private parts.
Seeing some defend him on here and its even worse on twitter. I dont care what the 19year old girl said or did. He went after her and god only knows what he would have done if he wasnt being restrained by 3 men and his own girlfriend.
Heres a novel concept- how about being the bigger and better person. The NFL should start banning these guys. They dont deserve a right to play.
And get lost with this sexist bullshit. Its just flat out wrong and if you dont see it that way, youre an awful person.
As proven by all the macho posts about, if this were my daughter or girlfriend . . . Showing that in the male mind, women have to be protected just like little kids
Damosel in distress is the oldest form of masculinist thinking
And like I said the absolute proof is that if this were some little guy instead of a woman, you would all be talking about how he kept going after Hunt even after he pushed him/her away
Such an obvious double standard but people that have that double standard ingrained in their consciousness just cant see it
You are a scrub. Adrian Peterson beat his small children, am I being sexist when I say that he shouldnt do that?
Absolutely mind boggling how fucking stupid some of you are. Difference of opinion is one thing, but a sheer disregard for human decency is another. If thinkings a large athlete shouldnt beat on women or people a lot smaller than him for no other reason than a verbal argument (especially after said person wouldnt fuck his friend) than I guess Im sexist.
I hope you feel better about yourself knowing that Im a sexist who wouldnt hit a woman. Sounds like common sense.

That's quite a crystal ball you've got.
If Hunt went irate on a man who was 100 LBs smaller than him, because the man wouldn't sleep with his friend, plenty of reasonable people would question if he should be employed.
Most sound minded people think attacking anyone you have a massive advantage over is unacceptable.
But then there is the whole inconvenient science of norms regarding the physiology of men and women, and how that is a biological truth. And how acknowledging and accepting those differences and not taking advantage of them, is actually the least sexist thing to do, and in point-of-fact pretty roundly accepted as totally fine by basically every woman.
But this will probably breeze right by some, probably to wherever the synapses that house how to use punctuation accurately live.

Your counter example reveals the fallacy of your logic. You equate women with children as groups that have to be protected by us macho men
Hunt attacked someone. The victims gender should be completely irrelevant. But unfortunately, as the posts on this thread reveal, it is the decisive factor.
that woman happens to be a good 100+ pounds smaller and by sheer common sense has a massive disadvantage in defending herself.
You can spin this all you want, you are a chump and an absolute stain on this site. Go ahead and call me a sexist, doesnt bother me as Ill wear that badge proudly and Ill continue to refer to you as the stain that you are.
This move says a lot about their ownership and organization.
Really? What does it say? They drafted a guy who punched a pregnant woman. They stuck with Hunt knowing what happened but because he wasn't totally truthful he was released. File this under they really had little choice since the video got leaked.
My post was a positive knee-jerk reaction. I had forgotten about Hills past and I didnt know that Hunts incident dates back to February 2018. I thought the incident happened recently and the Chiefs acted quickly. Had I put some thought into this rather than fire off a post I would have asked, Why did it take the video to be released for the Chiefs to take action?
Can anyone name one incident where an NFL team was ahead of the story and took action rather than wait until they had no choice?
Of the victim being irrelevant. Is there really much debate that a woman stands a worse chance of defending herself against a peak athlete? The gender of the victim adds context to the situation. Kareem Hunt doesnt take the same course of action if the victim is larger than himself, I'd bet.
This chick is so full of shit. The front desk denied your right to call 911. GTFO. Kareems an asshole, but she's clearly trash herself. Seems like these situations happen when both parties are assholes. If just one side here wasn't trash this would have never happened. Link - ( New Window )
Yes, he pushed and then kicked, albeit not in an injurious way, a women. He also pushed a man, but no one cares about that. The push was not unprovoked, the two were having words and the woman did NOT seem like she was doing the smart thing, which would have been to be quiet and extricate herself from the potential threat she faced. As a criminal defense attorney for decades, I can tell you that the consequences for this action in my state would be almost nonexistent. No Jail. No Fine. Maybe probation, maybe not. Probably an anger management class, but maybe not even that.
My point is simple. NFL players have a very limited career. Any suspension of their playing time and thus their earnings is impactful on them. To end a young man's career ... FOREVER .... which could happen here, is just way too much punishment for a dumb, alcohol-induced response to an equally dumb, alcohol-induced drama. People need to get over their ridiculous level of outrage over these incidents. Your level of outrage has to match the act that is done. He pushed someone and then gave her a half-hearted kick. He didn't punch her or choke her. It didn't appear to me that she was injured, except for her dignity maybe.
Of course no man should hit a woman. EVER. But no woman should hit a man either. NO ONE SHOULD EVER PUT THEIR HANDS ON ANYONE OF ANY AGE, RACE, OR SEX FOR ANY REASON WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE OTHER PERSON. EVER. But can we please just start being a little bit more realistic about the way the world really is and not the way we think it should be. If you think for one second that crucifying this young man and making an example of him will stop some drunken husband from slapping his wife around when she pisses him off, brother or sister, are you lost.
Wouldn't suspending this kid for a certain number of games, costing him maybe millions of dollars be punishment enough? Wouldn't suspending him for the rest of this season and the play-offs be a serious punishment? Taking away this person's livelihood ... forever? Is that proportional to the act he did, really? Remember, once out, there is no guarantee you get back in. Ask Kaepernick or Ray Rice. Punishing these young men, infinitely more harshly than painters or engineers or lawyers or doctors are routinely punished for the same offense IS JUST WRONG.
We all have sisters and daughters and wives. We all want then to be safe and free from the threat of ANY violence. But we also have brothers and sons and uncles and dads. And we want them treated fairly when they fuck up. They should be punished, but the punishment should be fair.
Sexists, what seem like 1 troll with a dozen incarnations and a few normal people.
The troll is pretty generous -- when he gets cooking he doesn't use punctuation -- which helps identity the crazy. Last week he was sporting the Long Live #10 thing.

You're arguing about something that hasn't happened, at least not yet. He hasn't been suspended at all, let alone banned from the league. Maybe no one will sign him ever again, and then you can be critical of that. As of now, he's as free to play for an NFL team as anyone else.

No one seriously belives this is a career-ender, that I've seen. How could it be when Ruben Foster spent less than 24 hours on the street and he's been caught up in DV investigations like three times alone this year.
This isn't like Ray Rice in that Rice was already an older in player. Hunt isn't even 24 years old and won the rushing title last year.
your point is that a team or teams in need will conveniently bypass the ugly optics of signing KH, once, if, he is off the Commissioner's List? Reality of a competitive front office vs some inconvenient truths?
On a par with Christian Peter?
I think the league is going to strongly suggest against teams signing
wouldn't it be smart for a team that's already eliminated, like the Giants, to grab him now, suspend him immediately for the rest of the year, then trade him for picks before the draft?

Why should he never play again? Let him get convicted of a crime based upon this new video evidence. Then, let him serve his time. When that is over and he has paid his debt, why cant he play football? It is only a game. Guys get let out of prison every day and find jobs.
Where were all the BBIers against violence? Most were saying Jordan was a punk.
Now imagine if Flowrrs had shoved Kim Jones. I might actually bet on Kim Jones in a fight against Jordan. But how differently would the liberal sexists on BBI have responded if a woman rather than a whiimpy man had been the victim?

You really don't have to look very hard to determine how disliked of a figure Ereck Flowers is here. You could probably have picked a better example to work with.
Chiefs did the right thing as far as cutting him goes
It certainly put a dent in there super bowl hopes
I just saw a quick view of him slapping or punching
then as he started to leave he kicked her at .
You don't hit woman period I did once to my second wife
she got pissed at me and she is like 5'10' with big feet
She was clobbering me with her Penny loafer lol I was
blocking them left and right so I gave her a little shot
to the side of her leg above her knee heck with it I knew
I shouldn't and I felt bad but It hurt her feelings and
I felt bad about it but I would never hurt her .I'm only
5'11 myself these are freaking tough dudes like Ray Rice
I mean really just knock her the heck out .Some of these guys just are touched in the head .
Even the most devoted feminist say a man should never hit a woman...PERIOD!
On top of that to imply that your average woman is capable of defending herself again your average man is flat out ignorant. Let alone a world class Male athlete vs nearly any woman outside of Ronda Rouse.
It's not sexist to point out facts and facts don't care about your feelings 😏
and corporations should get out of these politicized situations. In this case, the league acting on something a guy does in his personal life. Does the league sign "at will clauses" in their contracts. Maybe the should and do. If so Hunt should have known better.

Why? The NFL has a right to protect their brand and assaulting women is bad for business. Law Enforcement has nothing to do with what looks good or bad for the league. If they want to suspend a player for this type of conduct, they have every right to do so.
So, there is still sexism involved in the male need to defend the weaker sex

I agree. Hunt got fired from a job. He's going to eat his medicine, which probably is going to cost him the rest of this year.
He will resurface next year, hopefully as a better more adjusted man, with some conditions to get a job.
