He doesn't deserve to lose his job over that, but that's today's NFL.
Are you joking? You’d have no issue with that if it was your daughter/sister/ girlfriend? No problem with a 230lb pro athlete shoving, pushing her face, bumrushing her to the ground and then kicking her when she was on the floor? Mind you, this was all done when 3 men and his girlfriend were trying to restrain him. Sickening.
And how did the authorities not press charges? I don’t understand that.
If my daughter/sister/girlfrend was in that situation I have bigger issue with what she is doing with her life then getting pushed and kicked on the ground to be honest
If my daughter/sister/girlfrend was in that situation I have bigger issue with what she is doing with her life then getting pushed and kicked on the ground to be honest
Really. If your sister was bleeding from the mouth because some guy kicked her kidney in, what you'd do is play the 'I told you so' card.
Not sure how many of you watch the show Ray Donovan, but this feels like it could be an episode on that show. This mysterious “footage” suddenly surfaces 9 months after the incident. Crazy, think the Chiefs definitely made the right move, just have to wonder if the Chiefs had already seen this and were forced to act once it leaked. I mean they did draft Tyreek Hill. I don’t care how fast or how great that guy is, I wouldn’t draft him on my fantasy team ever for what he did.
They knew about the incident though. There's no mysterious "footage" - the footage existed from day 1. The only question is whether or not the NFL or Chiefs had seen it before this point (they claim they had not, and the hotel claims it only releases footage to law enforcement).
Once the footage is released - given that it doesn't match the description of the event that Hunt provided to them, it's clear he lied to them and he's released.
They just showed they are willing to put this situation ahead of their goal of winning. If you think most other teams would do this, you're crazy.
Hell, the ravens and Steelers harbored players who committed heinous crimes and one is a HOF'er known as a preacher and the other is a future HoF'er.
They deserve praise for doing the right thing. Is this really debatable?
Crimes not on tape. Pretending the public isn’t stupid is more than naive When video comes out it sadly makes a difference IMO
And he was out on the exempt list. They didn’t have to cut him. He wasn’t playing anytime soon. So cutting him didn’t matter. ZERO chance he was seeing the field this year again.
And as was mentioned. They have Hill. Yeah. Why is he on the team if they have such high standards? Praise away but it makes no sense
Going to the hotel and asking if they had security footage?
From what I understand, is that the security video was requested. But the hotel had maintained that they would only release it to legal authorities. How TMZ got a hold of it and why now is the question.
Almost huh?,next time I'll swing for the fences and quote one of your posts
Great that would be your 5th post since 2010 Dupe
Don't let it bother you, Montana. Regular posters here know who the good posters are. IMO, you're in that group. [/quote] Exactly why I don’t bother to post very much on this site. The so called “Group” shoud start their own website for approved posters only!
If they did, I think you would see the NFL suspend him indefinitely the next day. This is not a discussion the NFL wants going on nationally. This would be disastrous for them after Reuben Foster just a few days ago.
Off field behavior as long as it does not impact winning or hurt the business of that franchise is often tolerated.
Chiefs did the correct thing, and it will impact their ability to win a championship much like Plax shooting himself did, but in the end it was a business decision, that s my take.
Funny thing is, Peterson admitted in an interview last week that he still hits his kids with a belt. Yet for some reason the national media didn’t pick it up.
Not making a value judgment but that's probably the case about 99% of the world. With the possible exception of some white people in the Northeast and West coast of the US and some Western European countries in the last 20 years. People really need to get some perspective on life.
Are you actually suggesting that most people, other than some liberal white people, beat their kids with a belt?
Is this RichHouston?
“If my room wasn’t clean my dad would shoot me with a nail gun.”
Pretty much. Spanking, at the very least. I think liberal white people don't realize that not everyone lives in their bubble. I'm not saying it's a good thing to beat your kid with a belt, just that if you're not a liberal white person at the very least spanking your kid is not seen as child abuse but a form of punishment. Whether it's moral or effective is another story. I mean your mom "whooping you" is a badge of honor for some in the black community and it's really not much different for blue collar/rural white folks. Once again, I'm divorcing this from what's right or effective. It's just that people seem to not understand that what's going on in the upper east side of Manhattan is not the same as what's going on in Mississippi or in poorer urban areas.

And yes this has changed to a certain extent over the years but overall to pretend like this is not the case is foolish and shows that you live in a liberal bubble.
By what measure are we saying that this is the case in 99% Â
If he had done the same thing to a 58 year old man who weighed 120 pounds, it would have been brushed under the carpet, especially since the victim kept coming at him
So, there is still sexism involved in the male need to defend the “weaker sex”
It’s good that they are cracking down on violence. Hunt was drunk and out of control. He should face consequences But unfortunately it is still sexist, only most will not be able to see that
RE: By what measure are we saying that this is the case in 99% Â
of the world. That seems like an aggressive assumptive.
Not 99% of people in the world but 99% of the world corporal punishment is considered a form of punishment and not child abuse. And maybe it's really not 99% of the world, but it's a very high number. I was born in the Soviet Union, this is considered normal practice, at the very least, was when I was growing up. Does it mean that everyone does that? No. It means that it's not something that people will go to the police over and call it child abuse. People don't take into account cultural differences because they think their own culture is the only one.

Let’s say you’re right and it’s sexist, now what? What exactly happens to those of us who think this was wrong? Should I feel shame? Should I face a consequence?

Literally, men can never win this game. If the NFL or the masses weren't outraged it would be the sexist league and people that don't care about women. If they are outraged then it's the sexist league and people that think women are weak. The ultimate heads I win, tails you lose.
According to multiple sources the Chiefs were not willing to investigate the Kareem Hunt video, but one AFC team did. And that unnamed team gave the tape to TMZ. Going to assume it’s a playoff team that got the tape.
You call me a "shitshow poster", and I'm the "classy" poster?
I'm referencing how absolutely biased you are. Everyone to you that criticizes Eli is a "shitshow poster". You insult everyone that disagrees with you and then run to the mods when they insult you back.
And if you had any critical thinking skills you would realize I'm not promoting anything. I've said numerous times that I'm not defending it nor am I even saying it's effective. It's wrong and I would never do it. I'm saying that most cultures still do it. I never said it was a good thing to do, just that people need to keep things in fucking perspective. If you can't tell the difference between "this is how it is" and "this is how it oughtta be" then I suggest pick a book or something.

So pushing a woman who weighs 100 pounds less and then kicking her while she was defenseless makes this sexist?
How about it makes him an asshole? Jesus Christ. I knew BBI consisted of bad fans... but it’s evident it consists of horrific people as well.
Making excuses for men who hit women and hit kids... doesn’t get much worse than this?
Seriously? You are completely fucking lost. When did I make an excuse for someone hitting women? Seriously pick up a book or something maybe it'll teach you critical thinking skills. I said men can't win because it's now even sexist to make a big deal out of something that we NEED TO BE MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF like abuse of women. So if that's sexist AND abuse is sexist (which it fucking is and yes it also make him a deplorable asshole) THEN men can't win. When you're even called sexist for defending women you can't win. Seriously just learn some critical thinking skills rather than just get outraged over everything.

The only argument is that this wasn't a very popular opinion, but this opinion did definitely create a catch 22.
Don't be upset because you can't understand simple arguments.
1) Just because something is culture doesn't mean it's a good thing and should be condoned but it can still offer context. Adrian Peterson wasn't brought up in the UES of Manhattan. It doesn't mean that he gets a free pass, but some context is important.
2) I never EVER defended Kareem Hunt or men who abuse women, quite the opposite. All I said that if even criticizing him makes you sexist as one poster insinuated then no you can't win. No matter what you do (defend or criticize) you're sexist.
Neither of these arguments is that difficult to grasp.
You can laugh, but I feel bad for you. When you don't understand simple logic and can't make an argument other than ad hominems and appeals to emotion, it's not an easy way to go through life.
Just stop. When you ask someone how someone’s cock taste... your true colors really show.
You’re an awful person. Congratulations.
When you insult people in every thread because they happen to have a different SPORTS opinion than you, you're an awful person. Congratulations.
I'm not even the only person you do that to. You like Eli Manning, someone criticizes him, and you insult him. If THAT'S not being an awful person I don't know what is.
What high horse is that? Everyone lives in a bubble, liberal white people are just more pertinent to this discussion. I'm neither liberal nor conservative but most of my friends are liberal and some are conservative. I can tell you neither understands the perspective of the other. I think this is worse with liberals but that may be because most of my friends are liberal.
People’s character l... I question their fandom. When calling a player on your own team a fucking moron, loser, an idiot, and most importantly a “quitter” because of some bad plays... then yes fandom questioning Ian in order.
I can see how you say that’s equivalent to sucking ones private parts.
Get this nonsense out of here.

Yes he did. Not sure what you saw, but his behavior was horrible and something that shouldn't be accepted anywhere, especially in the NFL.
