1986 NFC Divisional Round- 49ers vs Giants 1-4-87

RobCrossRiver56 : 12/1/2018 4:21 pm
I was 16 watching this game in my friends basement. The game became a blowout but the first half was played pretty tight. Too much awesomeness in this game to list. If your scoring at home, count the number of great plays that would have been called personal foul or roughing the passer etc...

Enjoy...

Bill Walsh said that. He also said the Giants shattered them and were a great team that would go all the way. He had great respect for the Giants and Parcells.
Thank you Rob

Was at the game with my dad; section 206. Only thing truly profound is the passing of time.
I was there too

Giants-49ers is truly a great rivalry & those games in the '80s/early '90s were bloodbaths.
Perhaps in the minority, But I always felt, that, albeit way too

early in the game, the tenor of it might very well have changed had Rice scored instead of fumbling. Momentum for them? Deflation for us? We’ll never know of course, but I never bought into the dismissive, “so we would have beaten them 49-10.” That’s not how it necessarily works

I mostly agree that the whole complexion of the game might have been different. The Giant fan back then was accustomed for something negative to happen. That feeling followed me throughout Washington and Denver. Always waiting for the 'other shoe to drop'
