Expect them to be very aggressive in their pursuit of Harper.
Hoskins should never have been in the OF.
They have Quinn-Herrera (disappoined in the 2nd half, only because Kapler benched him for extended periods of time). Altherr is a 4th guy. Dont be surprised if you see Kingery play a little OF as well.

There were some reports that Harper has told friends that he doesn’t want to live in Philly. So the Phillies had better hope that they can persuade him by significantly outbidding other teams because if the reports are true, they are fighting an uphill climb

The "reports" I have seen on that are from nobodies on Twitter. It may be true, but I haven't seen it from anything remotely credible...

But Harper is obviously needed.
I think they are going to have problems signing FA because Kapler is such a goof ball. That's all Harper needs is to sign with the Phillies and have the screwball manager get it in his head that he should bat 7th and start playing third base.

I don't think Harper will care much if they outbid everyone else. They might have to concede an opt out though.
Cashman you blockhead....Don't bungle this and lose out to the Philies!!
They are uncomfortable with his woman. I hear she dabbles in black magic.
All the more reason for Mets to be all-in on Harper.

What is the deal actually looking like?

The same could be said for the Braves and Nationals.
(not that it changes anything dramatically)

the mets over valued cash saved this year at the expense of prospect cost because the wilpons run things like they're a mid market. It's shameful.
