There has been many a boring game in the NFL but this
may top them all .
There was only two plays of 20 yards or more a
20 Yard reception for Eric Ebron
And a 23 yard reception for Dede Westbrook which was the
longest play of the game . It gets better
there were zero Kick off returns
and 3 punt returns
Chester Rogers had two one went for 9 yards the other for 4 yards Rashad Greene had one return for 8 yards .
Has there ever been a more anemic game than this .
Imagine paying to actually watch this Garbage !
I think it was 0-0 at the 2-minute warning. Seriously.
I wanted it to end a 0-0 tie so badly. Alas, the Steelers kicked a field goal.
I won good money as the 4th place team, but seriously, Luck went into this game having 3 or more TD's in the last five or six games and Jacksonville came in with a seven game losing streak. Really tough way to lose after making it through 12 weeks of the perennial volatility of any given NFL season.
Would have been even more dominating without some stupid penalties in the 2nd quarter.
Sorry this bored you though -- unlike some of these 38-35 games where guys roam free and anybody covered gets PI and spot foul
Some people are never happy....
I guess the two FG's must have been epic .
I mean these are pros I have no idea what a ticket
cost for that game but what the heck was there to cheer
about I am sure they did the wave a few times just to stretch
I do vaguely remember the 3-3 tie
And the Gus Frerotte idiocy .
It just seems crazy having a game with out a Kick Return
even . I always though the kickoff was one of the best parts
of the game . NFL is going downhill fast IMO
If they expand globally fuck it I am done
that lost its direction knowing we play the Colts soon .
Correct.
Inept football that is low scoring is what we don't want to see. You know a bad game when you see it because at the half or end of the game, you are saying to yourself "That shit just set football back 50 years."
The one game that stands out to me was the NFC Championship Game between the Rams and Buccaneers I believe in 2000.
Final score was 11-6. But anyone who watched that game knew the reason why the score was such was because the Tampa defense was amazing, suffocating the legendary St. Louis offense that day. Tampa was not an offensive team, but even the Rams defense (who wasn't so great), had some good plays too.
The only TD for the Rams was on a crazy pass the receiver caught. Maybe Tampa gets the W at the end if the referees call that play a catch instead of incomplete, which brought back instant replay.
There was also a game between the Patriots and Steelers a few years before this in the Divisional Playoffs where the final was 7-6 for Pittsburgh. Both teams were heavyweights with a lot of talent on both sides. I was in grade school then, but that game also stuck out to me as tremendous.
I remember after the NFC Championship game, Madden and Summerall were dong the recap and they were talking about the 7-3 game earlier, and Madden was recounting a discussion with Belichick and Little Bill was responding people saying that the score was low so the Niners were playing conservatively. Belichick told Madden "conservative, that's baloney, they weren't running dives in there".
I remember going to a game against Seattle that the Giants won 9-6 and featured Jeff Feagles getting like 4 punts inside the 10 for the Seahawks. That game was boring.

99/00 Rams/Bucs NFCC game was a great game. That was the Bert Emanuel game. That Bucs D against the Greatest Show on Turf was an awesome matchup.
Shaun King against the Rams defense wasn't quite as exciting - but I still remember that game well.

I didn't watch the game and the Mets Suck !
I did also enjoy the Dallas-Giants game on Sunday Night in 2016, which was 10-7.
