NFT: GoPro

My son (6th grade, 11 years old soon to be 12) is asking for a GoPro for Christmas, for use while riding his bike and skiing. There are a lot of different types of models at different price points. Can anyone recommend a good model that isn't necessarily top-end and can maybe survive a fall or 10? Thanks in advance....
Just get the Hero7 White...

if you are looking for a newer model. It's easily all you need for kids. Get that and an accessory bundle that they sell everywhere and you're good to go. They have even cheaper models, but I don't know if they are discontinued.

How much do you want to spend?
I got one as a gift recently

is the contour

The video quality isn't as good but its a lot cheaper and the form factor is miles better.

Personally I think those people skiing with a go pro sticking off the top of their helmet look ridiculous.

I've seen the Hero7, but that is around $400, and my wife is saying the Hero 5 Session for a little over $200 with the bundle (definitely like that price better).

I got my daughter the Hero 5 Black with Go-Pro Plus.

Now I think you can still get that same thing for $250 or less.

I wouldn't worry about the latest for an 11/12 year old. My daughter is 16 now and uses it skiing, swimming, sports, etc. and it still works great.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the 7 White was $200. Maybe it was the 5...
