David Fizdale says even with Burke out indefinitely he doesnt know when Frank will be back in the regular rotation, says he wants to give Courtney Lee more playing time first.

Im not at all high on Frank

But the way Fizdale is handling him is very strange.
Rumors are starting to float
Earl the goat : 12/5/2018 2:44 pm : link
That Knicks are interested in John Wall

I hope not. He would be worse than Melo for these young kids
Might as well send him to the G-League then.
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 2:51 pm : link
Fizdale doesn't seem open to that though. Odd.

So far that seems to be all Berman so nothing to see here.. yet. Lets hope not.
Trading for John Wall
Oscar : 12/5/2018 2:58 pm : link
Would be such a Knicksian move. Locking in a 6-8 seed at best for the next half decade, whats not to love? Anyone who bails Washington out of that contract should be ashamed. Detroit is the only team that makes sense because they are already fucked with the Blake Griffin contract so no harm in piling on.

Possibly he wants himself and his staff being the ones coaching him up and not the G-league staff. This way he has him there to see it from the perspective of the bench where Frank can see and here what they are trying to do. It's worked for two other guys he sat lets see if it pays dividends again.
elsewhere, my man De'Andre Hunter is climbing up those draft boards
Greg from LI : 12/5/2018 3:10 pm : link
Sam Vecenie's latest at the Athletic had him at #5. He might fit the Knicks quite nicely - a wing with size (6'8", 225, 7'2" wingspan) and shooting touch (60% / 48% on 3s this year, 49% / 38% last year) who plays terrific defense. Pretty good passer too. A versatile guy. He was ACC 6th Man of the Year as a freshman last season, and he's continued to get better this year, averaging 16.4 and 5.5 thus far.

Didn't Stark's come off the bench

For a while there? I'm not sure this is such a big deal right now.

idiotsavant : 12/5/2018 3:35 pm : link
So, maybe this implies even far less time than sixth.

But both Stark's and Mase won the sixth man of the year award.
Some rumors out there that Wall's likeliest destination is LA.
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 3:45 pm : link

Source No. 1, a current NBA agent, surprised me by saying the story was true. The source said its something Rich Paul agent to LeBron James and, as of January 2016, John Wall was orchestrating. But, according to this source, the Wizards were saying no.

I was still dubious, so I checked with Source No. 2, another current NBA agent whos at least as dialed in as Source No. 1. Source No. 2 said the rumor is true. This source said Ball and Caldwell-Pope were definitely in the deal, but that there was still discussion whether the third player would be Ingram, Josh Hart, or Kyle Kuzma. While the boundaries of the deal were defined, details still had to be finalized, and the whole thing could still fall apart.

Hard to believe teams are willing to part with good young players to take on THAT contract.

Frank
TyreeHelmet : 12/5/2018 3:48 pm : link
Needs to be playing. I really dont understand the need to get Courtney Lee playing time. Trading Frank now makes zero sense.

Anyone else see Noahs comments about a couple rough years? You were either injured, suspended for PEDs or simply too bad to play. You got paid a fortune to barely play. I wouldnt complain, the Knicks should be the one complaining....
Saw a tweet the other day saying
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 3:50 pm : link
Fizdale didn't want Noah anywhere near Knox and Robinson in particular. It was in relation to Noah's potential influence on Jaren Jackson in Memphis.
Frank needed to be benched
Vanzetti : 12/5/2018 4:03 pm : link
He was playing with his head up his ass. Love the fact that Fis holds guys accountable. You don't just play because you are a "young guy" or a high draft pick. Play like crap you will ride the pine for a while.
KD: It's "toxic" around Lebron....

In a Bleacher Report piece trying to understand if and why fellow stars are shying away from playing alongside LeBron James, Durant offered enlightening answers not only about James, but perhaps his own priorities.

So much hype comes from being around LeBron from other people, Durant told the website. He has so many fanboys in the media. Even the beat writers just fawn over him. Im like, were playing basketball here, and its not even about basketball at certain points. So I get why anyone wouldnt want to be in that environment because its toxic.

Especially when the attention is bullst attention, fluff. Its not LeBrons fault at all; its just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. Just get out of the way and let us play basketball.

KD to NY confirmed.

Durant sure loves to complain....

I feel like the Lakers are going to end up with ADavis and Leonard. I dont buy this speculation about players not wanting to play with Lebron. If they want to win they will. And its the Lakers....
Yeah, KD is miserable.

Recently he's been barking at fans during games, too. Seems like things are getting a little stale out in Golden State.

tartar by now, but that was such a big miss.

I get the sense that Frank is timid and afraid to fail, but he deserves all the criticism if hes content being a JAG out there. His defense is so overrated too in todays NBA and how guards are being used.

If he is still complacent after this benching, then there is no hope for him.

The Knicks are discussing multiple trade scenarios for Frank Ntilikina - source says talks have made the next step with two teams from the Western Conference.

Assuming this is true, I can easily see the Suns as one team. They need a PG badly. I brought up the idea of Frank for Josh Jackson.

Not STARTING.. not PLAYING. Frank isn't part of the 9 man rotation. He's not playing at all. It's a major deal. Last 5 team games he's appeared in 3 total.
Apparently Frank was a little snippy (by his standards) with the media
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 4:43 pm : link
I'm sure today's news didn't sit too well with him. I have a feeling Frank and Dotson believe being drafted by Phil puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to these rotations. There's no legitimate explanation for Hezonja starting over Dotson, for example. I could see them both being a little paranoid about it.
I mentioned yesterday that Ariza
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 4:45 pm : link
will be traded as soon as he's eligible (Dec. 15). The conspiracy theorist in me thinks Frank is being benched until that date, and Ariza will be part of the deal. But I'm just speculatin' on a hypothesis, as they say in Miller's Crossing.
I think frank is going to be traded
nygiants16 : 12/5/2018 4:50 pm : link
and knicks are just stalling, this is part of opening a spot for trier..

I think who starts is starting to be a little overblown, as long as their is a set rotation i am fine...Dotson is playing more minutes than hezonja..

I will say Hezonja is not scoring a ton but i think his defense has gotten better and his rebounding has helped...He is not somekne i am desperate to keep but i can see him finding his way..

I am fine right now with knox and dot coming off the bench because they are still getting major minutes

It does. Kind of like how Gettleman jettisoned most of the Reese players.
A lot of smoke surrounding Frank recently.
bceagle05 : 12/5/2018 4:56 pm : link
Berman's recent hit piece (which nailed Knox, too), that Ringer podcast where the Memphis reporter said the Knicks were "out" on Frank, his current exile from the rotation, and now persistent trade rumors. I think his days are indeed numbered. I'm fine with it, as long as they don't just give him away.

Drama is the NBA's biggest product. For me, when there are a lot of 'rumours' floating around the Knicks, that's usually a sign that it's made up BS.

I'm not of the opinion that a lot of stuff leaks from there.

Plus trier needs to be signed

IF your a team that isnt worried about..
Italianju : 12/5/2018 5:25 pm : link
the cap then Wall makes a lot of sense. I think people on this board are selling him short. He is a bad fit with Beal and rumor is they do not get along at all which i doubt helps. They also have never got them a descent big. Its all Wall/Beal on the perimeter. Sure he is getting a bit older, but he should still be fine for the rest of his contract. Someone mentioned a team like DET and that makes a ton of sense.

THe Lakers dont really make sense because they still should be saving cap space. I cant imagine the Wiz can turn wall into Ball and either Kuzma or Ingram, but if they could that would be an amazing trade. Ball is a much better fit with Beal. Kuzma and Ingram looked to be on their way to being great nba players and im sure there lack of numbers has a lot more to do with Lebron being there then a regression.

no he will have to be sent down, i am sure the knicks would prefer to make a trade rather than eat a contract...

if you can trade frank for a pick and then sign trier it saves you money for next off season
and they are not trading dotson
nygiants16 : 12/5/2018 5:32 pm : link
this is a berman special, a young player starts to play well and then he writes an article saying knicks are going to trade him for an overpaid player...

He knows it will garner clicks and rile up knicks fans

Knicks trade frank and lee for ariza and bucks 1st..

flip ariza, bucks 1st along with hardaway for wall...

Knicks make trade because they think wall, knox, kp and this years pick can attract durant..

Wall
TyreeHelmet : 12/5/2018 8:13 pm : link
I dont think people realize how bad his contract is and will be. Im a fan of wall- an elite passer. But you cannot trade for that contract with the Knicks current situation. He eats up close to half your cap....

Trading Frank right now would be nuts. Just look how many teams are interested. That should tell you to keep him.
