Dam straight, he was a great talent. Blind Melon put out 2 monster albums.

Scott Weiland - greatest live prefomer I have ever seen. I am not a big STP or Velvet Revolver fan, but Weiland was ridiculous live.

Greg Giraldo - One of the funniest people around, and a brutal roaster. I wish I would have seen him live.

Evan Tanner - He was the embodiment of a "Fighter" Learned to fight by watching videos and became a UFC Champion. I miss watching him fight.

Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf - I can't stress how many times I want to tell someone to "go have sex with your mother!" Hank was brilliant. Maybe Stern wouldn't have turned into a giant P if Hank was still around.

Many of our most respected physicists now believe we're likely in a multiverse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse).

The short explanation: we're in just one of an infinite number of parallel universes, where these icons of culture you're listing may be very alive and well, and you might instead have been the one who passed. There's no way to really test for this to confirm it (which is sort of the point of science), so it's all just theoretical, but it always blows my mind.

No, I don't miss them because they controlled their own destiny and decided to check out early. Regretfully, they are no longer with us, but I don't "miss" them. I didn't know any of them personally.

GW was most-likely killed by his doctors. He basically had a sore/inflamed throat (probably strep or mono) and his doctors decided that blood-letting was the best treatment. They reportedly drained many pints of his blood right before he died.

So, you don't miss them because they "controlled their own destiny", or you don't miss them because you didn't know them personally, which is it?

What is this notion of "counts" or "doesn't count"? Counts for what exactly? I'm incredibly confused by your list and I really don't think you should have 2 separate lists. Everyone "controls their own destiny" in some way. BTW, Chris Farley died of an overdose of cocaine and morphine, so that's one inconsistency. Also, Phil Hartman remained married to an insane person who had long-standing issues with drugs and alcohol and ultimately murdered him, so in a way wasn't he also controlling his own fate? Gandolfini died of a heart attack which you could argue could have been avoided by making healthier lifestyle choices, so did he he not "control his own fate"? Also, the reasons for Tupac and Biggie's shootings are still unknown, and many believe Biggie in particular was likely killed due to the incorrect assertion that he was responsible for Tupac's death, so I don't see how you could say either of their deaths were their fault or part of them "controlling their destiny". Same thing with Eazy-E... he died of AIDS. Your post seems to blame him for "not being able to keep it in his pants" but the reality is that any person who has ever had unprotected sex with anyone (including you) has technically put themselves at risk of getting AIDS and it truly does come down to just having bad luck a lot of times. Wilt Chamberlain had sex with thousands of women and never contracted HIV, was he attempting to "check out early" by being so sexually promiscuous? I think it's disrespectful and shortsighted to judge one group of people as having "controlled their own fate" or "chose to check out early" while depicting the other group of people as just victims or innocent bystanders... especially considering, like you said, you have never met any of them.
