i'll kick off with a few that came to mind for me:
Robin Williams
James Gandolfini
Jose Fernandez
going back historically, I could list a million more. i'm thinking more along the lines of...
boy, i miss the Sopranos. i hope they make a mov.. oh yeah, forgot "Tony" is dead.
but everytime i see Sir Paul McCartney doing some public appearance and acting all hokey... i think; boy i miss John Lennon
And since we're on this site, Troy Archer
Towards the end, Lemmy said he started drinking vodka because his doctor told him if he kept drinking whiskey it was going to kill him.
Talk about 4 guys who embodied Old School NYC

Marky is not dead. Tommy is.
yep
Greg Giraldo
Evan Tanner
But I was thinking more along the lines of people who have died in the past decade. Otherwise the list gets out of control. John Kennedy would've in all likelihood died of old age by now (he'd be 101 years old).
Biggie Smalls
If all had lived, history would have been so much different and, in my opinion, better.
like, i know we all miss Bush41. but he was 94 and not likely to be making many appearances or publishing any new books anytime soon... soooo
Dam straight, he was a great talent. Blind Melon put out 2 monster albums.
Steve Jobs - a product visionary. don't care one way or the other about his success as a businessman but I think he might have had something to say about the future of AR, which I think will just sit there untapped for the next 10-15 years. Waiting for the Microsft hololens? keep waiting.

I got it
Scott Weiland - greatest live prefomer I have ever seen. I am not a big STP or Velvet Revolver fan, but Weiland was ridiculous live.
Greg Giraldo - One of the funniest people around, and a brutal roaster. I wish I would have seen him live.
Evan Tanner - He was the embodiment of a "Fighter" Learned to fight by watching videos and became a UFC Champion. I miss watching him fight.
Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf - I can't stress how many times I want to tell someone to "go have sex with your mother!" Hank was brilliant. Maybe Stern wouldn't have turned into a giant P if Hank was still around.
I miss my parents.
So this would include:
Kurt Cobain
Eazy-E
Robin Williams
Brittany Murphy
Heath Ledger
River Phoenix
Tupac and Biggie
George Bush Sr.
Stan Lee
Michael Jackson
and a few others listed already.
Disclaimer: I love Eazy Muthafuckin E... Love Robin Williams... nicest man you'll ever meet.
Guys that didn't "deserve" it, and I'm including people who had certain health issues, but probably didn't realize it until too late:
Phil Hartman
Owen Hart
James Gandolfini
Eli Manning's Hall of Fame chances
Chris Farley
Bruce Lee, from the official report... allergic reaction
JFK
Paul Walker
One could argue JFK and Walker put themselves in that position, but unlike Tupac and Biggie, they weren't doing things that warranted retaliation. The POTUS, as a title and symbol, is always under fire (no pun intended) so JFK shouldn't count.
Gone too soon? The man was 94
His shows were about the only non-sports related TV shows I regularly watched. His death felt like losing a friend. The only time that has happened for someone I didn't know.
Jim Morrison my favorite as a youngster
Jim Belushi was so smart and funny
John Candy
JFK and no Johnson as president
MLK was a man that was needed in the early 70's and without him the country was missing something big.
Troy Archer could have been a great one
Len Bias as a Celtic fan he would have been the next great one and would have been the step between Bird and Pierce.
Vince Foster
I believe Hoffman is the greatest actor of the last 25 years. Guy was magical on screen.

"The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool." - ( New Window )
John Bonham
Layne Staley
Jimi Hendrix
John Tuggle
Of course as mentioned earlier, none of them are ahead of my father and grandparents.
But it s hard to describe the sense of lost for many of us who lived through that era.
Bobby as well. They seem to symbolize the idea of “Gone too soon”
Steve McQueen
David Janssen
Marilyn Monroe
Lou Gehrig
