Plaxico Burress

@plaxicoburress
I can’t wait to see this QB play for the Washington Redskins for the rest of the season. @mark_sanchez Let me grab my popcorn. #comedyfor3hours #checkdownking Yup I said it!!
I didn't realize/maybe forgot that Plax actually caught 8 TDs in 2011. I don't recall him being that effective after donning the jailbird stripes.
Anyway, Christmas Eve 2011. Beating the Jets and all but knocking them out of the playoffs while simultaneously mathematically eliminating the dream team Eagles. Cruz goes 99 passed fat Rex and the entire Jets sideline, Bradshaw trucks that DB and Jacobs gets in Rex's face postgame.

That was the merriest of Christmases.
god i remember that game. I saved the NFL Replay on my tivo. We could have lost that game too. After that TD by Cruz, we were killing Sanchez. It was a thing of beauty. Even that pic of Jacobs yelling at Ryan was awesome.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. I watched it at a bar in Deerfield, IL. Great times. Great season.
It is, of course, preposterous that (especially) behind a terrible o-line, a 6-4 (at the time) team would choose to bring in Mark Sanchez instead of CK...
ahh I didn't see that he tweeted directly at Sanchez Â
and threw away his career because he shoved a gun in his sweatpants really shouldn't be laughing at anyone.
He came back after his stint in the clink and played two more seasons for the Jets and Steelers before retiring after a shoulder injury. He did a radio interview a few years ago and described how he immediately knew that his career was over after landing badly or taking the hit or whatever it was that hurt his shoulder in his final play as a pro
You have a 4-8 team that got crushed by a 6-6 team earlier in the season and is now playing at that 6-6 team, and the 4-8 team is a 3.5 point favorite?
This is entirely due to Sanchez being seen as a joke. I think if Smith or McCoy started the game Washington would be favored.

Lol didn't connect the dots, but yes we should not be favored under normal circumstances.
Yes indeed they did.
Plax is obviously unaware of the Giants decades long tradition of losing to 2nd and 3rd string QB on struggling teams
But we squeaked by the Bucs and the Bears, so we are on a roll against back ups.
he is cheering for the giants. who gives a fuck

I think 2013 broke that curse. Didn't we beat like 6 consecutive backup qbs.
Jacobs yelling at Ryan - ( New Window )
It is. Gotta think Plax puts the season squarely on Sanchez.
""We're only going to score 17 points?" -"Sir Charles" Tom Brady
Ya know Plax, ya don't have to be an asshole.
Exactly. Show some class and shut your ass

I thought the only person Plaxico took shots at publicly was himself.
Plax was probably one of those guys. Especially with that offense around him, he had some talent to work with.
Plaxico Burress caught the game-winning TD pass in SB 42 to beat the previously undefeated Pats en route to the best victory in Giants history.
Mark Sanchez was a New York Jet and was never a good QB.
I'm a Giants fan and will support and laugh along with Burress on this one :)

Wait. I thought Eli was the worse QB in the league according to some on BBI!!

I still remember Plax screaming at the Packer bench
"He can't cover me! He can't cover me" (about the Packer CB). And Plax was right.
He was unstoppable that night. A beautiful memory.
And Plax never got enough credit for being a vicious downfield blocker.
