Giants take Rashaan Gary at #7. Daniels first QB off the board at #9 to Jax. Hebert not in the mock b/c their take is he will skip the draft,
Daniels

Gary

Could play the 5-tech. Bigger upside but also lower floor than most of the other DL.

I mean who else was on the board? Who was taken before Gary?
Rashan Gary sure has got some size on him...
M.S. : 12/6/2018 10:25 am : link
...but if I had to choose a defensive end between him, Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) or Quinnen Williams (Alabama), then Rashan Gary is not even in the discussion.

Quinnen Williams is my second best player in the Draft behind Nick Bosa. Williams has been outstanding this season. Unblockable

If it went down like that, I'd probably opt for Devin White or Josh Allen over Gary.

Love the second round pick of Edwards, but I don't think he lasts to the second. Hell, I don't even know if he'll declare.

I am all in on OLB Josh Allen. I just think he makes sense especially if we get rid of Vernon. There won't be a pass rusher available in free agency that will be a difference maker. I can also see DG get another pass rusher in round 4 since we have like 4 picks in that round.
This should excite BW
Jay on the Island : 12/6/2018 10:53 am : link
Kyler Murray is reportedly considering playing pro football. He will likely choose baseball but if he is guaranteed to be a 1st round pick he might change his mind. He would pay back his signing bonus to the A's if he does choose football.
Gary-Edwards

Better than Ed Oliver?
Now we are talking, I just hope he will be available
barens : 12/6/2018 12:06 pm : link
by the time we pick. Those who label him as just a 5 techniques must not have seen him play. I'm a Michigan fan, and while this year he was limited because of injury, I've seen him play all across the defensive line, and their scheme is a 3-4/4-3, 3-3-5 hybrid.

He's the type of player you want against teams that have QB's who can run with the ball.
Draft a FB?

In my opinion, yes. Admittedly, I didn't get to watch Oliver a lot because of the team he played for and because he missed a lot of the year with a knee injury, but I have seen a lot of Williams given that he plays for the Bama powerhouse and Williams is the real deal. He's an absolute terror on the interior line. I like Oliver a lot based on what I saw in 2017 and the Aaron Donald comparisons for sure are warranted, but Williams is even bigger, absolutely dominated the toughest conference in college football, and just as powerful, quick and twitchy as Oliver. I like Brugler's comparison to Gerald McCoy.

Amazing how most of these players are defensive players. The debate on who we take is a good one but to me it is all about pass rusher who will start from day 1. Not sure where we will pick but if Gary can get the QB then draft him. I would rather have Allen as I feel he fits both our scheme and is ideal to attack today's NFL offenses.

Picks 3, 4, 5 - Is that a Law Firm? Williams, Williams and Williams......
So, with the 7th pick in the draft
ColHowPepper : 12/6/2018 1:14 pm : link
(if it shakes out that way) GBN has us drafting the fifth DL chosen, i.e., four before we pick?

Uh, uh, sounds too similar when we picked Pugh as the 7th OL picked in Round 1. I'd rather go best C or OL at that point.
Aren't we supposed to link when we quote other sites?

I'm not a fan of Gary. I don't think he fits what we need, which is an edge rusher.
Allen, White or Lawrence

Draft another TE high?
jnoble : 12/6/2018 3:07 pm : link
Evan is still too young and new to give up on already. Way more important holes to fill

1 - Gary - 1
2 - Edwards - 2
4 - FS
4 - OC
5 - BPA
I like the other Josh Allen
DavidinBMNY : 12/6/2018 4:49 pm : link
Maybe 7 is a little high for him, but he has been really producing with no help. Fills a big need at pass rush and LB.
Since the Giants won't have a worse record than Oakland
Jay on the Island : 12/6/2018 5:52 pm : link
I am hoping that they end up with the #1 pick. Their biggest need is a pass rusher. If they have the #1 pick they will have their shot at Bosa who should be too good to pass up. There is a very good chance that Herbert will fall several spots if they do with a pass rusher. If the Giants want Herbert their biggest threat is now Jacksonville. IMO they will go hard for Herbert if they don't add a QB in free agency. Hopefully they will sign Bridgewater or take a chance on someone like Winston.
I expect the Giants to be drafting....
Milton : 12/6/2018 6:01 pm : link
...in the 10-15 range. Which would be a good thing, so maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, because developing a winning culture is more important than draft position. Unless it turns out that there's a QB I love in the draft. But I'm not feeling it right now.
No Haskins listed either
TheMick7 : 12/6/2018 6:20 pm : link
If he's available at #7,he could be our pick!

Williams indeed had a great year. A monster year. A strong case can be made he should go #1.
People went nuts about QB last year but
LauderdaleMatty : 12/8/2018 7:12 pm : link
As of now Barkley is easily the best player. This next draft IMO is the same. The top 3 players will not include a QB again.

What’s also funny is the 3 best QBs for the last 10 years at Brady Brees and Rodgers. None who were drafted in the top 10.

The best DL or OL who there is fine w me. This draft is LOADED on defense.

And Vernon needs to be gone the second the season is over so DE OLB looks to be as big a need as OL
