Who ya got? Really love watching MMA lately, hard to make BS rules (cough cough football) that water it down. I think Ortega either wins impressively or gets exposed but i'm not very knowledgeable on the sport.
Anyone partake in a mixed martial art? Recommend one in particular?
Fight could go either way though, both big fighters for their weight class, one is the Elitl striker and is a relentless worker with toughness [Holloway-the champ] and the other has very good standup(he finished Frankie Edgar with strikes)and world class BJJ.
Should be a great battle.
I feel like Stylebender is most unbeatable right now.
Disagree to a point. Issue is some of the bigger cards. Where guys fight not to lose. Or the lame WWE style fight cards. I get the anger but WME wants it’s investment back. Be smart on which cards you watch. The top two fights on this card are as legit as it gets. And if you don’t think Ortega Vs Holloway is a great fight then I’m not sure what you want to see.
Just watch on Reddit instead of being sucked in every PPV. Also don’t think most casuals are going to enjoy flow wrestling.

I hear you Matty. I'm a wrestling fan so the college and high school matches are great for me. My son wrestles in HS and is ranked now, so it's something we enjoy together. I'll take it over UFC all day. That's not to say I don't appreciate MMA - but the current product has jumped to unwatchable reality TV lately.

Keep an eye on Bellator, they've been acquiring some decent fighters. Would love to see multiple organizations become really successful so we can get unification bouts.

I would also love to see that, and it could definitely happen if/when Holloway moves up to 155 pounds. Sounds only like a matter of time before he does that.

My best friend whom I train w was a two time AA at Clevland State. I’ve leaned a ton from him. It’s some great stuff so I get where u are coming from. 10 years of BJJ and MMA and u will it find anyone else here who agrees with you more about some of the MMA cards and fights. It’s shame how the sport is evolvolving
This is a solid card but I wouldn’t pay for it. I get how much fun you and your son are enjoying the purity of his sport. Enjoy and good luck to him this year. And while my Rutgers football is a dumpster fire our wrestling team is legit finally. Lol.
No one looks bad after that fight, Ortega took 200 punches in 20 fucking minutes and never dropped!!!!! wtf! His stand up is improving, he definitely hurt Holloway in the third...
Holloway is just a different animal. He cleaned out that division, i hope he moves up in weight.
Always a free stream up on reddit, i actually had more luck googling "Holloway Ortega reddit stream" than searching through reddit itself.

This is really late but Holloway needs to go to 155. He's a different guy that the one who faced Connor. IMO runs over him. Issue is guys the guys like Khabib and Lee who are monsters at 155 size wise. Holloway's the real deal and there is no one at 145 who is close anymore.
This weekend Al Iaquinta vs Lee is a very good free fight. Iaquinta was better on a one day notice than Connor was vs Khabib.
