This is the second time he quit on a team. First time when he left Â
bad for the bowl game, undecided for the sport. CFB is going to have to do something to reign in the Super programs monopolizing everything. Trivializing the bowl games further with the playoff is a warning sign.
RE: Once Cajuste (his LT) backed out of the game, it makes sense. Â
He can only have bad things happen to him (poor game, injury) and nothing positive to help his draft stock.
I get it, but don't think it's going to help him in the long run.
If his LT bailed out I think it’s an absolutely justified decision. Why should he risk his future career and families well being by playing in a game that isn’t even for the title? It’s a game with the word “bowl” in the title. But it’s far from the super bowl or any title game for that matter.

U of Florida. He likely would have been a 2 year starter there. I hope his attitude pushes him down in the draft.
I would not draft him to be a franchise QB.
It damn sure is. Never been a fan of the kid, he's a mediocre QB who played in a offense designed to make QBs look better than they actually are. Pass.

Saquon played in his final bowl game and wasn't about to skip it.
The guys who skip bowl games fall into a couple categories, in order of likelihood
1) They've already mailed it in (Ed Oliver, Rashan Gary this year)
2) They're hurt (Fournette recently)
3) They fear being exposed against a good opponent
4) They genuinely just want to skip it

Kid makes the right decision, and people here think he’s afraid to play a team?
Who said he's scared?
What a dumb comment.
The OP did.
Try to keep up, B.
You posted that there are multiple people on this thread claiming he's scared. That's simply not true.
Try to be honest that your post was horseshit, Golf.
Sorry, I should’ve said “OP”, instead of “people”. Thanks for the correcting my mistake.
Thread is still fucking dumb.
Don't ever let it happen again.

Pffft. That school wouldn't be collecting $2.5 million for the payout and an additional crazy percentage from the Big 12 if it weren't for Grier.
You guys are Fucking naive to think this isn't all about business on both sides.
Holgerson is probably thrilled. His QB goes to the draft unscathed, with tons of success and he recruits another.
A 3rd round qb is likely a millionaire without all the damage.
Grow up please.
I would not draft him to be a franchise QB.
That’s such horse manure. McElwain wanted Grier out. He was more than willing to roll with Del Rio and Franks.
I take it you have the same sentiment about Cam Newton?

What he said. Grier didn't quit on Florida. He was forced out. According to his public comments and people I know involved in the UF program.
Brevity is the soul of wit!

Well he sure as hell didn’t sacrifice himself to recovery a big fumble in the super bowl.
Right? I mean the history, the tradition, the legacy, the propane lanterns, the air mattresses.
The ability to avenge such memorable losses for WVU in the Carquest and Russel Athletic Bowls.
Is there no sanctity in college football left?
