In the Bengals-Chargers game, the Bengals QB dives for the end zone, his knee hit the turf before he crossed the line - WITHOUT BEING CONTACTED, and the ball goes across the line before he is touched
John Hussey ruled that the QB was giving himself up and he was considered down where the knee hit.
The color announcer actually said that is the dumbest interpretation of a rule he's ever heard
Somehow a deal was struck to preempt the Fox GOW for the effin Steelers Raiders. If it wasn’t happening I would have thought that contractually it wasn’t allowed.
Ref stops the game because he suspects a head injury. Player has to come out of the game and the team loses a timeout or a 10 sec run off. But if it comes from the booth, no penalization.
Way to say you are all about player health.
that actually increases our playoff chances greatly, whereas either of them winning doesn't really change our chances one way or the other. Philly losing is better for our WC chances and I do think WC is a better chance of happening (more possible paths to it with Carolina losing today) so if one has to win I actually would prefer Dallas.
Tie is certainly possible now. A tie is the best outcome for the Giants since they can't win any tiebreakers with the Eagles/Cowboys so a tie would be like a loss for both teams
Wentz looks very pedestrian with pressure in his face and same with Prescott! It happens to all QBs, hence the importance of having a good pass rush and talent in that aspect.
He looked super gimpy when they activated him and I think he's sort of been in catch up mode most of this year.
Most of his numbers are still fairly in line with what he was doing before the injury. He's running a lot less now. But his completion% is up a good bit. Pass yards per game up.
The Eagles were a fantastic rushing team last year - that isn't the case this year.
Also remember that Jeffery was hurt early in the year and Tate wasn't acquired until recently, so Ertz was one of the only viable targets he had for a while.
On top of that, their defense is just totally decimated in the back 7.
I expect Wentz to be a top flight QB again next year.. as much as I'd rather he wasn't.

Arc thanks, this explains it. Knew coming off injury, but other things mentioned explains it
As for Prescott... the guy isn't good. I feel like a broken record, but he's just not. Great RB, strong OL, strong defense? Sure, you'll win some games.
As soon as you ask this guy to drop back and win you a football game, you're playing with fire.
There are QB's in this league who win games, and QB's in this league who need help to win games. Prescott, to me, is the latter.

The NFL continues to jump the shark. Then jump the shark. Then jump the shark again...
No, that is exactly what the rule was meant for. Elliot clearly dropped his head to use the helmet as a battering ram.
Do I like the rule, no. But many times the RB/WR initiate the contact with their helmet and that is what Elliot did.

Yep. Dallas paying Prescott will be excellent for us.

Or, Elliott was falling down and lowering his head to protect himself. It was the natural thing to do. What did you - or the league - expect him to do?
The opening kickoff was a fumble recovered by Dallas but there was "no clear recovery." Then that BS OPI on a tying TD while Cooper is pushing off all the time? Jesus....
I doubt it'll happen - but does a tie between DAL/PHI benefit us or hurt us? I haven't really looked at that stuff.
Trying to remain optimistic--but I think we're beyond help this year. That second loss to Philly killed us.
Giants had so many chances to get back in it this season. First Philly game. First Skins game. 2nd philly game. But to think there's still a small infinitesmal chance...it's nuts.

Yeah, our chances are basically nothing at this point - but I guess if I have to suffer through a DAL/PHI game, I'd prefer to find an outcome that benefits us somehow so that I can at least hope for it.
I'm still pretty fucking sour over the last Eagles game and the Panthers game.
If we had been able to win each of those games like we should have, I think we'd win this division.
Not me. It is the best of both worlds. A crushing season ending defeat in OT for the Eagles. And Jerry figuring out how to pay for Cooper, Dak, and Zeke.

on Cooper and Dak with Zeke looking for his soon after.
That is why for teams to win they have to have a nice blend of Veteran and Rookie contracts spread through their talent.
Cooper will be looking to be paid in the neighborhood of OBJ's contract. Bell will set the bar for RB which Zeke will want. And the QB market is set at $20-$25M/yr. I'm loving it.

Indeed. He'll be in the $15M/yr range.
RE: RE: Jerry is going to have dump a ton of cash Â
He had already proven himself in Oakland. And while he has continued to be good in Dallas, he will be looking to be paid. They cashed in their 2019 1st round pick with cost-controlled salaries for 5 years for the privilege of paying Cooper top dollar for his services. Sure, he has been the difference in their season in winning the big, bad NFC East. But it isn't like they are favorites to win a SB. I guess with their history over the past 20 years in the playoffs, if Cooper can deliver a single win, then it might be considered a success in the eyes of Jerry.
I'd love to see a list of BBI posters who wanted Eagles to win vs. Pat Â
I killed Dallas for taking Vander Esch instead of Ridley... and that critique seemed sort of legit before Cooper was there - but Vander Esch has actually been really good and Jaylon Smith is healthy and playing at a high level too.
A 1st still seems steep for Cooper - but you can't argue with the results so far. He's been great for them.
Dallas has been managing their team pretty well in recent years. Prescott still isn't good enough but they're doing pretty well otherwise which sucks.
If you're still holding onto hope... I'm fairly certain we'd need Dallas to lose.

No hope. Just nice to have another meaningful game next week.
Giants can't be eliminated this week. I have created a post on this. DAL win eliminates NYG from division but not wild card.

Hey I'm with you...
Ray would know better than I would, but I think Dallas losing is better for us than the Eagles losing.

I think WC is a better chance for pipe dreams, in that case we’d want eagles to lose.
I'm really struggling to figure out how that call is made
I hate him he will always justify the refs call no matter how wrong.

You're right - I just checked the thread on it. Slightly better chance if the Eagles lose. So, I guess I am rooting against them.

Was a fumble, but they couldn't prove the Eagles had it, despite 3 Eagles on top of it.??????

Too steep a price? Guess we’ll see. But he looks good right now.
About now, I wouldn’t blame them.

Broncos friends are losing their minds out here:). Nice to know we aren't the only team in the NFL that has issues covering TE's.

Man that takes the NFL Player of the Week away from Barkley!
Sounds like something that would happen to us.
I hope JJ gives him the moon.

+1 Dak is what he is, but Wentz looks like he needs more recovery time .
Because it's Dallas in Dallas and it's Dallas. Next question....
and he just said it was
This league is a JOKE.

+1 would have been a better game without these crap calls.
What are you babbling about?
He said it was a terrible call.
That official should be fired summarily.
If you call some of these things as penalties, then anything can be called.
The refs are impacting way too many outcomes.
Defensive holding has been rampant in the 4PM games, often on plays where there is absolutely no infraction.
This league needs to change
The ref should be fired. Has to be on the take
That official should be fired summarily.
Looked like incidental helmet contact. How can that be a penalty???
Yeah I didn't him so either, plus I thought he Boys got away with a helmet to helmet shot on him as well when he made the catch and spun.
That said, FUCK the Eagles and their shitty fans. I can't stand Dallas either but my hate for the Eagles and their fans runs deeper.
Just a complete joke.

A bullshit call that completely impacts whether the game is won or lost. That is a fireable offense.
Blowing calls all over the place? That will get you a playoff assignment

a completely blown call by the official. Clearly not OPI, in fact, the DB slammed Goedderts helmet.

He lead with his helmet, and that's not incidental. That's exactly what they're trying to take out of the game,
Look for a holding call if Eagles score!
Just saying.

It's better for the Giants if Dallas wins.

lol ... crazy ending.
You must have missed the other 9 catches for 190 yards and 2 TD's
His knee was down short, but the ball when his knee hit was beyond the LOS. Correct spot.
Fuck the Eagles. And fuck all of you who were rooting for them last year.
Was hoping for a tie. Or as someone else said, a comet to hit the stadium
You're reading a message board where many people were rooting for the Eagles to beat the Patriots.
Right there with ya Steve. I live in SNJ as well and the Eagles and their fans can't lose enough for my liking.

I don't think Dak is all that good and he will end up taking up the most of the cap.

10 catches, 200 plus yards and 3 TDs will do that.

It is looking like a brilliant move. He's been the X factor to a season that was on the brink for Ole Jerah...
And Gallup is going to be very good, too.
Say all you want about Dallas, they have become a tremendous organization at finding talent, especially via the draft.
They should be ostracized from here to eternity.
