I noticed on the long run where he did not score and had to sort of reverse field he switched the ball into the corrext hand. I know it seems small but you'd be shocked at how many NFL backs do not do that.
Emmitt Smith was famous for only carrying the ball in one hand but when he ran left he held the ball in his left hand allowing himself to use his right hand to defend himself. But when he ran right he'd always have the ball in his left hand making it easier for defenders to target the ball and for Smith not to dedend himself. Now, Smith was rare that if I am not mistaken he didn't fumble all that much and was a hall of fame player. I think he tried carrying in the other arm but fumbled and said he didn't have a good grip with his other hand.
I just love the attention to detail with Barkley and this one thing is part of the reason he doesn't fumble.

I truly believe, he is simply instinctive. Tiki had to be taught some things to avoid fumbling, etc. and did well with it. I think he was birthed this way. Once in a lifetime talent

He said I believe they pounded it into him at penn state to protect the ball at all times
This may be a learned move.
We now have a RB who can bang between the tackles, outrun linebackers and DB's in the open field, break 1 on 1 tackles seemingly at will, catch passes better than most RB's, and on top of that, he doesn't put the ball on the ground.
Guy just has to stay healthy. It's almost too good to be true how talented he actually is. It is very rare for a player to possess all of these abilities at once. Most guys are either super fast, but not strong enough to get tougher yards... or they're really strong, but not able to beat quicker LB'ers off the edge and aren't good in the pass game. It's remarkable how complete this player is.
He's like one of those players you created in Madden back in the day.
Don't believe me? Listen to them talk.
There's a lot to be impressed with in regards to Barkley, but I think it's just a matter of seldom seeing a back break a long run down the left sideline in a wide open field.
