No disrespect to Russell Shepard, and I appreciate that he cares, but if it's a choice between him and a player like Barkley, who is passing up on that?
It could be true that Shurmur sucks as a coach, but if he were ONLY calling plays he would probably be good at it.
We do have to account for the fact that we've been giving the O quite a few possessions, on account from the generous turnovers thrown and fumbled by the 2nd and 3rd string QBs we've been facing. If we keep this up over the last three games I'll be more impressed.

To string together some wins. Would have been nice if we would have won the Carolina and Philly game and to be really in the hunt but it is what it is. The last few games have proved we have something to build on next year. The offense runs through Barkley and he is the leader that we haven't had for several years now. Hopefully we can address our issues next year via the draft and free agency along with cutting some of the fat. I just hope playing these crappy teams isn't a mirage and it's a sign of this team and staff coming together

Even yesterday, we left a few TDs out there after having 1st and goal which was frustrating but was nice to have Eli convert on a few red-zone throws as well to his other wideouts without panicking.
Thought SS did a nice job breaking up a pass that his guy undercut...would have been a int for certain. Or did SS run a bad route?

This is true and should be considered. However, the Bears and Redskin defenses are legit. Watch the game last night? No one should bash for you the comment. You can bet, if we beat one of the top teams in the league it would be mentioned along with the win. You can't have it both ways.
The truth is we have beat back up QBs and some bad teams. It matters. What also matters is that we are scoring points on offense at a rate we have not seen in some time. I am getting closer to wanting to see Eli start next year as opposed to being resigned to it. The Titans & Cowboy games will clear things up for me.
First we will get to see the entire season as a whole. If we finish strong, the season in its entirety would show growth. We are establishing an identity that I like. If we finish strong enough and Manning plays well enough you could even convince me to extend him if we could get some cap relief for next year.
What leads to this change of heart for me is the identity I see forming in this team. This should be a run first, power team. I think the organization recognizes this. Eli could probably play a few more years in such an offense successfully. It is all contingent on a strong finish against teams playing for something, with their first string QBs playing the games. If they fold against the Titans and Cowboys it will identify these wins as outliers against poor teams and back up QBs. I will be rooting for Giants and Eli.
