I definitely understand it. I think he’d rather play these guys in bunches and see how they resond with a lot of minutes in batches of games rather than play everyone just a little bit every night. It’s impossible to get into a groove if you’re only playing 5-10 min a night. With all these guards on the team it’s impossible to play everyone msjor minutes every single game. Might as well bench the struggling player for a week or so and get someone else a lot of burn then switch it back to the struggling player when the time is right.
This year is all about development and gaining another nice draft pick Â
Frank should be back in the rotation. He is their best defender and looks to get his teammates involved, which this team needs more of. They need to see if given enough minuets his offense will continue to grow. Why not give him time this season and find out by next?
That reiterated a point I've been thinking about for a couple weeks now, and it's that when KP comes back, who would be best at PG? Frank is clearly the guy who offers the most potential at point of any of the guys we have especially when KP is on the floor.
(I should say I think it was a Bondy article, so I wasn't looking to plug that. Not a big Bondy guy.)
RE: My take on how Fizdale has handled everyone’s minutes Â

Agree with this. Took a little getting used but I think it's a valid approach. Everyone he's benched has come back better.
For Trier’s two way contract? Everyone said a move was necessary. I didn’t see one.
I had read an article that said the 6th was the deadline, so I said that here. Looking online again, there's another article that says the deadline is the 15th. So, I guess that other article was bs.
Yeah it seems like he really used that critical article about him he for some motivation. Many a great athlete used external things to self motivate, it's a good sign he can do that.
better about all this if we didnt insist on giving Kanter, Hezonja and Hardaway minutes.
Just play the 5 dudes who will compete and play defense. Stop switching the rotations and thinking you're tight with all your players. Shit is getting annoying.

One thing he has to take into consideration. They would be in constant foul trouble with a couple of them.
but I like what he's saying about defense, or lack thereof. We have no interest whatsoever in competing on that end of the court. Every night teams have 100 points through three quarters.
Have to remember how young this team is. Games Iike this will happen. Frank is going to be a good nba player though. They need to give him minutes and put the ball in his hands.
- this team could actually use Joakim Noah. He actually fits a major need and could have helped Robinson. I’d rather play him than Kanter.... That stretch made zero sense for many reasons but atleast they made a roster spot for Luke Kornet...

-Kemba is such a great player.
they stretch him because perry and mills are delusional
forgo free agency, trade kanter for a bad contract to get extra picks...
resign vonleh and mudiay and kp, add this yesrs first..
just let the young kids grow together, forget this stupid dream of signing a max guy
I mean yeah, that is plan B if you don't get a max. Don't go spend dumb money on dumb players, but you're gonna have a hard time convincing me that Scary Terry at like 4 years 50 mil is a bad deal.
Sounds like Trevor Ariza is headed to the Lakers Â

he is getting more than that, there is going to be a lot of money out there
Just because they don't get a max guy doesn't mean they can't improve. Then the following year Lee and Hardaway are off the books.
you wont cap space, remember they will be going over the cap to sign kp to a max...
and tim has 2 more years after this year not 1 like lee
They are only going over the cap to sign Porzingis if they add someone else this summer first. As of now, summer of 2020 the only guys they will have on the books is Ntilikina, Knox, Robinson, whoever we draft this year, Porzingis (assuming we resign him) and Hardaway on an expiring deal. They definitely will have the ability to make another run at a max in 2020 if they strike out this year.

Looks like Millsap is out for the year
He’s got a 30 million dollar team option for next year
Denver has been playing great and needs to replace his production
So just some ideas
Kanter and Lee for Millsap and Porter ???
Hardaway and Baker for Ryan Anderson and Bridges ???
In either case there will be trades coming for Knicks prior to deadline
player of all time. In reality though, it's good to see him hit some shots.
As for the plan going forward, assuming the Knicks strike out on true max level talent, they just need to sign young players with upside or positions of need to short contracts. No more of the 4 year contracts which cripple their flexibility.
Obviously there are some exceptions: KP should get a 4 year max deal. If Trier can be signed for less than 3 mil then he should get a 4 year deal. Someone like Mudiay though, assuming they don't find someone better, if he wants more than 8 mil he should only get a 1 year deal with a team option for year 2.
it wasn't just that his stroke was excellent and his tough was excellent. It was that those shots were going in without even touching the rim, including the behind the back sop and pop. He is beginning to look as if he can really, really shoot.
Meanwhile, I still want to see what Knox will look like once his muscle tone builds up. He is going to be a dominant player in a year or two.
And, what can THjr do that Trier won't be able to? Trier is at least as good a defender already, and more explosive. And he doesn't look as if he is going to kill himself on every drive to the hoop, like THjr does.
(I should say I think it was a Bondy article, so I wasn't looking to plug that. Not a big Bondy guy.)

Kanter and Hardaway are poised to lead this team to a title.
I'm more concerned about throwing another $70 million at some third-tier free agent. Just keep tanking - I don't care how KP feels about it either.
How soon they compete largely depends on if they attract a quality FA and who they get in the upcoming draft.

They may not get Durant, Kyrie or Kemba but they'll get someone.

i dont know man but it doesnt hurt to call...

Haha. I like the idea. It sounds like they want a PG though. Maybe Mudiay has bumped his value up enough.
obviously there are taking something more than an expiring otherwise they would just take pope...
no trade

26 points and 15 rebounds for Kevin Knox.
He joins Patrick Ewing as just the second Knicks rookie over the last 40+ years with at least 25 & 15 in a game.
Knox joins LeBron James as just the second player in NBA history with at least 25/15 as a teenager.
