you think it is revealing. Because we know so many tangible things can be taken from a press conference, right?
I mean Gettleman has an utter disdain for analytics too. Even though he started the analytics group in Carolina and his protege modernized the analytical method in Buffalo.
But then again - just yesterday, you defended Parcells for calling Terry Glenn "she" even though it ended up having no positive result for either Glenn nor the team.
RE: With the win against the Redskins, the Giants are Â
What's wrong with what he said? If you read the entire quote in context of the question and his answer he's basically saying, "Our coaches are going to scheme to our player's strengths and stick with what's working, not just blindly copy what other teams are doing." On the other hand he could have just said, "We're going to keep feeding Barkley the rest of his career because he opens up the entire offense," since that's the reality of what's happening.
Also, people read way too much into press conferences. It doesn't apply to this specific quote, but you know that team's PR departments gives players and coaches a list of stock answers for them to remember for different questions/topics they expect the media to ask?

What exactly don’t you like about this quote? Is it because Shurmur is not following what everyone else is doing? That wouldn’t exactly be leadership. Shurmur’s point was that he is confident in his approach, regardless of trend. Sounds good to me.
Wow. I'm not sure why, but that's really surprising to me.

I think this is quite revealing. And for you to discard as if it’s nothing is not surprising.

Because it feels like the Eagles have 100 wins against the Giants in just the last 20 years or so?

Yup.
Packers up on Lions 98-74-7 in regular season, plus 2-0 in playoffs.
Giants up on Redskins 100-68-4 in regular season, plus 1-1 in playoffs.

lol ... actually, it seemed to me that Roger Staubach had at least 100 wins against the Giants by himself

Why should he? There’s no edge copying what others are already doing. The edge is setting the trend.

It feels like the Eagles have to be close to 100 wins against the Giants.
