As many of you know, I was definitely in the draft a franchise QB crowd, however I've been "pleased" with Barkley's performance. So I decided to do a comparison with him vs Elliott, who plays behind one of the better O line's when they're healthy.
* Saquon Barkley in 2018 --- 209 att 1,124 yards 5.4 ypc
* Ezekiel Elliott in 2018 --- 268 att 1,262 yards 4.7 ypc
As you can see, Elliot has 59 more rushing attempts than Barkley, but is averaging .7 yards less per carry. If we were to add 59 more rushing attempts to Barkley's ypc, we get an additional 318 yards.
Now lets add this to Barkley's yards, and this brings his total up to 1,442 yards. Which therefore puts him almost 180 yards ahead of Elliott, and would make him the NFL's current rushing leader in 2018. Not bad for a rookie....
Now let's throw some more numbers together. Since the Giants acquired Jamon Brown, what are Barkley's numbers?
Barkley --- 98 att 605 yards 6.17 ypc (all in just 5 games)
If we were to extend that over a 16 game season, if my numbers are correct, that would give him a total of 1,936 yards. Obviously the level of competition the Giants have played against these past 5 games hasn't been stellar, nonetheless it is still interesting.
One final note, a poster was curious what were Ezekiel Elliott's numbers "prior" to the acquisition of Amari Cooper and finally with him? So I ran those numbers, here ya go...
Before Amari Cooper --- Elliott 132 att 619 yards 4.68 ypc
After Amari Cooper --- Elliott 136 att 643 yards 4.72 ypc
Oddly w/without Amari, virtually the same, no difference....
Comparing Barkley to Elliott is like comparing Deion Sanders to Josh Norman.
Yeah, no shit Saquon is a generational talent. Some of us were trying to say that 9 or 10 months ago. Newsflash, he's better than them all...Gurley, Elliott, Kamara, McCaffrey, ALL OF THEM, no shit, he's better. Glad you're on board now, and now your role is to bow down and flog yourself in front of those that said from the beginning Barkley was THE PICK. BITCHES.
I Love OBJ, cant wait for his return, zI guess nothing affects the running game like o line performance.
Giants ran the ball 35.86% of the time. 6th lowest in the league.
The last 3 games:
Dallas, 44.3% (roughly the same)
Giants, 43.09% (An increase of 7.23%)
I'll keep saying it. I don't care if it's a passing league now. The run still sets up the pass. If I have to choose between a good run blocking OL or pass blocking OL, I'll take a good run blocking OL every time. A QBs best friend is still a good to great run game. It doesn't matter if the QB is a SB winning veteran or a newly drafted rookie with potential. Rams, Saints, Patriots, etc. Nearly all of the better teams have a good run to pass ratio.
Continue to fix the trenches on both sides of the ball and the Giants will really have something.

Lighten up Francis. You can always ignore a thread you don’t like right? How about you stop yelling in caps?

From Fuck-sticks who kept saying it was a critical mistake, a fireable offense to draft Barkley over a QB. Fuck you, STFU, some of us.. You were wrong, fuck off and admit you're a dipshit. ..

+1 take a Midol would ya...
Let's be honest, there's already a price to pay for using BBI
I did a snort-laugh!
Ahem, sorry for the behavior last night. I got a little carried away.
Thrilled to admit I was a moron, that Barkley is possibly the best player in the NFL already, and he's still going to get better. I was wrong, and I am happy as Hell that I was.

You're not a moron whatsoever. Mayfield is having a fine season and looks like a great pick. And Barkley is special too. However, he's not in the conversation for best player in the league. Aaron Donald as an example is having possibly an all-time season and might make a run at Strahan's sack record with another couple of explosive games.

He's definitely in the conversation for the best player in the league, and so is Donald.
The conversation I think includes: Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, Todd Gurley, Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott, Davante Adams, Antonio Brown, Aaron Donald, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, and Khalil Mack. Thought about including Tyreek Hill.
I do think Saquon is the best RB in the game right now. Ahead of Gurley, even. If I had to narrow to 5 players, it would be Mahomes, Saquon, Donald, Watt, and Mack.
I was just gonna say... one of those names does not look like the others.

Eric is gonna have to start charging for access to BBI.
