I don't know to much about him. He seemed to play well when he started in the league. Since he got hurt (broken leg?) he hasn't stood out like he did. Not sure if Chucky likes him, I've heard different opinions.
Would he fit in with Shurmur? (Even if you like Shurmur or not he's not going anywhere for the foreseeable future).
If he's available and it's reasonable I wouldn't mind a trade, but what's reasonable. A first? and a fourth?
What do you think?
Frankly, I dont think there is a huge market for Carr in no small part because of what it will cost besides draft capital.
Maybe Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Washington and Denver. Cincinnati has the most cap space but is Carr a huge step up from Carr? Worth the draft capital it will take?
Also keep in mind that Foles and Flacco will be available as well. Neither of them any great shakes but they also wont cost high draft picks either.
I wasnt clear - I dont want any of those guys either. But other teams might and that will weaken the trade market for Carr.
Is he still in his first contract. If not then what would that take.
I wouldn't even consider Flacco. He's not much younger than Eli.
Is Foles someone Shurmur can work with. Is he available after the season?
Probably but do you think he'd still be around when we draft?
But to the question. I s give up 2cnd
He's also played for some unimpressive coaches.
I think he'd be just fine in a stable system and good talent.
He's not the worst option for a 3rd round pick.

Not being a wise guy. I don't think we have a 3rd. We used it in the supplemental draft.
Lol keep up the good work buddy...
Wait for the Raiders to release Carr, and he can sign to be Eli's back-up like his brother did. Kyle can go to the PS. No one is going to steal his noodle arm.
Exactly, while the usual suspects poo-poo any thought of a life without Eli, Carr has been playing so well recently the Raiders may pass on drafting a QB.

He's not, but then you've got to pay him starting QB money at some point, and I'm just not feeling that with him.
Considering the price of QBs out here now, Eli might actually be good value.
He hasnt thrown an interception since week 5. He has absolutely no running game, a leaky O-line that is worse than ours at this point and he is throwing to household names like Seth Roberts, Marcell Ateman and a washed up 33 year old Jordy Nelson.
Frankly, it is a much worse situation than Eli has here and he has performed pretty well considering.

How much...hmmm?

3rd round but don’t think that gets it done so maybe 2nd rounder.
And what’s your problem Buddy?
He isn't a bad QB, but he isn't a franchise QB either. Paying a non-franchise QB franchise money is the worst position you can be in because you have no flexibility.
Get the next QB through the draft. The only affordable veterans are affordable for a reason - they are backups.
Wow. Good for him...
He's basically costing $22-23MM/yr. In other words, Eli money, except he's 10 years younger than Eli. He'd be locked up at that price through 2022. I used to think that was a ton of money, but while it's not a rookie contract, it's basically a bargain when you look at recent FA QB contracts.
Consider Matt Ryan ($30MM/yr), Jimmy G ($28MM/yr), Stafford ($28MM/yr). These may all seem like bad deals, but they are the deals being made for starting quality QB's who hit UFA.
Unless you happen to be able to draft one, you are going to pay upwards of $30MM/yr to replace Eli with a starting caliber QB.

I agree. The Raiders need to sign Le'von Bell and team him up with Carr.
If you bring in Carr, he may have a reasonable contract for a franchise QB, but I don't see him as a franchise QB. In that respect, his deal isn't a good one.
Former MVP candidate, was playing at a very high level in year 2 and 3 before some injuries and the state of their team went to shit. Has all the tools...it's kind of weird what has happened to him.
All that being said, he is clicking now with Gruden's system and playing well, and they legit have nobody on offense
