NFT: Knicks Chat: Lebron twists the knife

DanMetroMan : 12/11/2018 7:32 am
Post Lakers/Heat Lebron was filmed telling Wade their final game would either be "here or the Garden". Meaning the Knicks were an option via FA.

If there is any truth to that at all

I assume the KP injury made his decision a lot easier.
Wev LeBron

Who saw that coming?
I have no idea

what this thread is about. None.
That can’t be true, nobody ever considers the Knicks
Mike in NJ : 12/11/2018 8:14 am : link
And nobody is coming here.
It’s ok

We used that cap space on Tim Hardaway
If he knicks don’t move

Hardaway and Lee’s contracts by year end it’s an epic fail
courtney lee being sent to g league
nygiants16 : 12/11/2018 9:58 am : link
will play wednesday in gleague and be back thursday
I read that he said that because
mattnyg05 : 12/11/2018 10:05 am : link
they were the only two arenas in the league with enough prestige for the situation.
I don't know if I
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 12/11/2018 10:07 am : link
buy this. LBJ loves teasing Knicks fans & I'm sure he knew this would get out.

Good luck. I think there’s an outside chance Hardaway could be moved in a salary dump but I don’t think Mills will do that. I think Lee will be tougher. No one is signing up for 13 million for him next year. Hope I’m wrong.

The sad thing is that the Knicks have 38 million tied into 3 players that aren’t needed and don’t help attract anyone. The situation outside that is very attractive for FAs but imagine having another 38 million to spend?

arcarsenal : 12/11/2018 10:40 am : link
And people still think Walsh being in that wheelchair wasn't a deterrent? That could have been the deciding factor. Sad.
They will be able to get off Hardaway if they want to
Oscar : 12/11/2018 10:45 am : link
My concern is they will not want to. Lee I am less sure about, but there is still time for him to show something.

I hope your right but I think it would be difficult. I think a team that is capped out or doesn’t value their cap space would take him for free in a salary dump. I just dont think the Knicks will do that unfortunately.

If Perry talk sense into Mills regarding Timmy
bceagle05 : 12/11/2018 11:19 am : link
he'll score major points with me. We all know Timmy's not good enough to be a top three player on a contender - even worse, his game isn't developed enough to be a complementary player either. You want role players to shoot threes at a high percentage and/or play defense and/or crash the boards - Timmy does none of that. Maybe he's an expensive sixth man candidate.

Now THAT is how you twist the knife.
Yeah I don’t think you’re getting any kind of asset back
Oscar : 12/11/2018 11:25 am : link
Just a salary dump. Hardaway does not make them good enough on his own and would not be a major factor on a team with better players. And his contract prevents them from getting better players.

I would understand if they waited until the summer though. Really the only reason to move him before the deadline would be to tank harder, although I think he’s a good tank commander in his own right. They will probably wait to see if they have a shot at a free agent, if they do they’ll be able to make a move to free up space.
This is on par with fans insisting LeBron was coming here
Ten Ton Hammer : 12/11/2018 11:32 am : link
because he was wearing a Yankees cap all the time.

Lebron is deeply entrenched in Hollywood for his off-court interests and business. He was never coming here. He's making a fortune with his entertainment businesses.
A lot of effort going into this charade
ghost718 : 12/11/2018 11:32 am : link
He was never coming here, dones't matter if we have Fizdale as head coach, and Spitzdale and Twizdale as assistant coaches.

Salaries of Lee and Hardaway plus the stretched number for Noah. My point was those dollars aren’t really helping the team next year...

i mentioned this the other day, if the plan is to get durant, lee is probably a good piece to have as a vet off the bench, you cant just have a bunch of young guys and durant...

Also Hardaway is 24th highest paid shooting guard, so you get rid of him, probably trading a 1st and then will have to fill his slot with someone else making 17 million....

I am fine getting rid of Hardaway but people need to realize you wont be getting another max, it will be most likely vonleh and maybe mudiay resigned with that money plus draft pick is probably around a 4 to 7 million dollar hold..

dont forget you will Have trier as well...

Trier out a few games with a groin strain, per Bondy.
bceagle05 : 12/11/2018 2:05 pm : link
That delays the expiration of his two-way contract. Crazy coincidence I'm sure.
Free agents signed this past summer
bceagle05 : 12/11/2018 2:08 pm : link
can't be traded til Dec. 15, so it makes you wonder if the Knicks have something arranged to clear a spot for him and just have to stall for a few more days.
Lebron is probably the biggest nba troll going
djm : 12/11/2018 2:11 pm : link
Fuck him. If you really think he’s being serious I have a bridge to sell you. He’s trolling the Knicks and their fan base yet again.
They all
PaulN : 12/11/2018 2:35 pm : link
Love the Garden and are an inch away from signing with the Knicks, and they are all full of shit!! It is the in thing to say since the heart of basketball resides in New York and the mecca MSG, so they say all the right things, I seen even Shaq do the same thing. Don't bother to listen, when the Knicks become a power in the NBA, and eventually they will, and they offer the moist money they can offer a player, that is when they will add a top free agent. These guys do nothing out of grace or love of the game, they are all full of shit. They want the money first, and winning second, and they want both and want both now. If you can't offer both they don't give a shit.
They def have a trade lined up
GMEN46 : 12/11/2018 4:52 pm : link
Hopefully Lee or Hardaway. I really don’t want to trade Frank.
I'd be surprised if Fiz would have gotten himself thrown out
JustaDiscussion : 12/11/2018 5:35 pm : link
of the game the other day for someone that he knew was going to be traded in a week or two. I could be reading too much into it, but I felt like that showed the Knicks commitment to Frank.

As for Trier, it's possible he's actually injured and they just let him go down to the g-league until the end of the g-league season. It wouldn't be the end of the world. It would also be less surprising to me than the Knicks actually finding a trade partner for any of the players worth trading. If I was part of another team the last place I would look to find talent is at the Knicks castoffs.
Definitely feels like a trade is lined up
nygiants16 : 12/11/2018 5:59 pm : link
why else would Lee volunteer to go to thw gleague? he says to get into game shape to play more minutes but also says he is not going to get those minutes here, so why are you worried?
I think Lebron has always toyed with the idea of coming to MSG
Vanzetti : 12/11/2018 7:16 pm : link
But when it came down to it, he was never going to come.
