The league announced today that the salary cap will rise to somewhere in the neighborhood of $190 million in 2019. The 2018 cap is set at $177.2 million.
“The NFL informed clubs today that the projections for the 2019 salary cap are in the range of $187.0 million to $191.1 million,” the league said in a statement. “This marks a 40% increase in just five years since the 2014 season ($133.0 million) and would be the 6th consecutive year the cap is projected to climb more than $10 million per club year over year. Total projected player costs, including benefits, will be more than $7.3 billion in 2019.” |
I saw tickets today via this web site for $27.6k each for club seats for the Titans game. Who the hell can afford that and ... why?
Eli is at 23 million cap hit next year, but he will probably sign a two-year extension to bring that down.
But even as it currently stands, Giants will have 30 million to spend in free agency but that is without counting Collins.

People can list tickets for any price they want on the secondary market. It doesn't mean that's what tickets actually sell for.
This isn't the most complicated thing, yet people look at the wrong side of it all the time.
Right, because your beer is funding the team's roster.
/sarcasm.

I've never had to buy tickets to a game. What could club seats actually be sold for?
For this Sunday, the coaches club seats are listed on StubHub for between $300 and $600 each - they're probably selling much closer to the $300 price point, if not lower. $27K sounds more like a single game luxury suite rental (for the whole suite, not a single seat).

Also, the suite will include catering and an open bar. I'm not sure of the limit on people that can attend under the suite pass, but it isn't a single dude chugging beer eating cheese sticks. At this time of year, a company might have an executive Christmas party in a suite, a law firm, etc.

Thanks. That makes sense since only 1 ticket was available.
