Another video of one of Barkley's runs against Washington

I know we've already seen several of these posted but this one shows some great angles of the blocking. Papa and Banks breaking down the play.

It really shows how Sheppard shot downfield to get a hit in. I also loved the blocking from both TEs.

I saw that already but it's great, thanks for re-posting.

There is a similar breakdown somewhere of Shepard's in-line blocking on the long TD run. Great to enjoy good power football for a change!

Carl needs to hit the weight room. Too many MetLife sausage and peppers sandies.
Shep was the best blocker during preseason

I expected he would have a nice impact on some of Barkley's runs this season

Wow you are right. He doesn’t just look overweight, his face looks kind of unhealthy.
Shep and OBJ were training hard together in the offseason

Strength training. Looks like it’s paying off.

Its kind of funny he says Power football when its an Outside Zone play(where lineman are reaching for combo blocks and then climbing, not a gap scheme). It's run out of 12 personnel (1 TE 2 RBs) with Formation Into the Boundary (FIB), and so it looks like Power Football because the blocks occur in tight spaces. This is something the Giants really struggled with early in the season (in the preseason especially, so much so they rightly went away from it).

Barkley's pace & vision top off not only the TE blocks but also Solder's combo on the 5-tech. So the Redskins set their base 3-4 front with the 5-tech DT/DE into the boundary (and 3-tech to the field). The Giants ran at the 5-tech ALL DAY. In this case, Solder gets him moving laterally and then savvily holds him a bit for finish, and the DT fails to widen to his gap as Barkley bursts through. The LBer from that side Foster, he looks like he is reading the DT and takes the opposite gap (so hes inside) than the 5-tech.

Apologies for the length of this, but I think it was a significant moment. The next series the giants try the same scheme for a loss of 5. This Redskins front 7 is a lot better than people realize, and to be able run OZ FIB and move them really took a shot at their pride. In the 2nd HAlf they tightened up a lot but obviously the game was out of reach. My point for all of this, is I think these clips & breakdowns can incorporate the above a bit more to show just how the play happened and developed, and how it was built on from previous schemes/player actions and what happened after. Thats where the real art of this game exists.

Besides Saquon, he's my favorite player to watch. I love the brand of football he brings. Tough, talented kid.
