“I never thought I’d be in the position that I’m in,” Jenkins said. “But when I got the offer from Mississippi State, I told my mom that I’m going to come here and just going to put my head down and keep grinding. That’s what I did and it got me into the position I am today.” Although the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder is coveted at center, pro scouts are also salivating at the versatility he as shown throughout his MSU career. Jenkins has started at four of the five positions along the offensive line with 25 at center, five at left tackle, two at left guard and one at right tackle. “That helps a lot and shows that they can plug me into any position that they want to and I’d be able to help that team out,” Jenkins said. “It doesn’t matter what position, I believe I can play all positions. But I’ve played center the past two years so center is a good fit.” |
I am not familiar with Elgton Jenkins, but OL has to be a priority at some point in the draft. It seems like good lineman don’t hit free agency. Their is always guys that are on the back nine available and some can certainly still play, but I would rather get younger (and obviously better) everywhere we can.
