Elgton Jenkins in round 2!

Milton : 12/12/2018 1:15 am
Besides the fact that he needs to take the "g" in his first name and squeeze it between the "n" and "s" in his last name, I think he would be an excellent fit. Hard to tell at this point where he will fall in the draft at this point. Teams that fall in love with a center don't hesitate to pull the trigger in round one despite projections (i.e., Travis Frederick, Frank Ragnow).

Quote:
“I never thought I’d be in the position that I’m in,” Jenkins said. “But when I got the offer from Mississippi State, I told my mom that I’m going to come here and just going to put my head down and keep grinding. That’s what I did and it got me into the position I am today.”

Although the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder is coveted at center, pro scouts are also salivating at the versatility he as shown throughout his MSU career. Jenkins has started at four of the five positions along the offensive line with 25 at center, five at left tackle, two at left guard and one at right tackle.

“That helps a lot and shows that they can plug me into any position that they want to and I’d be able to help that team out,” Jenkins said. “It doesn’t matter what position, I believe I can play all positions. But I’ve played center the past two years so center is a good fit.”

are we picking currently #7? I just read a mock and it had us at 7 so I am gonna assume that is correct.

I am not familiar with Elgton Jenkins, but OL has to be a priority at some point in the draft. It seems like good lineman don’t hit free agency. Their is always guys that are on the back nine available and some can certainly still play, but I would rather get younger (and obviously better) everywhere we can.
Granted I only have to 1 OG to base this on

but I like Gettleman's chances to pick the Giants a good one. If the Giants like Jenkins, then I'm all for it. Wasn't his track record with the Panthers on OL good as well?
310 pounds is not a Hog Molly. Jones was 308.

Jenkins say might not be a 1st rounder, but a plug and play C right away round 2 type prospect...sounds a lot like our current LG! I'll take it

Biadasz declares, he might be the guy. He's 320 and the best center in the big 10.

all for the Badger center if he's there in the 2nd. Damn shame we currently don't have a 3rd round pick because Piersbacher from Bama would get my vote at that stage of the draft
Ivan. Wasn't Jones listed at 318?

But one might have to consider drafting a top guard (Hernandez type) to convert to center if the right one doesn't exist.
