Mason Foster trashes the Redskins, plus Guice injury news

NYG27 : 12/13/2018 9:03 am
Foster post the following on social media...

Quote:

“[Expletive] this team and this fan base.” (The comment was followed by six “tears of joy” emoji.)

“I’m not [expletive] wit it or being a scape goat to make fans feel better about all these big money ppl who ain’t playin or getting dogged out.”

“Yeah I’ll try my chances and go to a winning team next year.”

Plus news just came out on Guice's surgeries that might delay his recovery...

Quote:

Guice developed an infection after the surgery that lasted two months and required three additional procedures — which Guice referred to as “flushes” — to address the infected tissue, prompting seven weeks of heavy rounds of antibiotics through a catheter in his arm. There was a period of getting IVs three times a day, for three hours. His knee would swell up, giving him a burning sensation, and he came down with flu-like symptoms when the infection was first detected and an orange, cloudy fluid needed to be drained from the joint.

The infection slowed his rehab process, and because doctors needed to check on him regularly, he stayed with family in Baton Rouge to remain within driving distance of Gulf Breeze, Fla., where orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, who performed his surgery, has his practice. It kept Guice away from the Redskins' facility and his teammates.

Redskins fans on the local sports radio stations calling this the low point of their fandom and almost everyone is calling for Snyder to clean house with both Bruce Allen and Gruden.
As long as Snyder...

doesn’t sell the team, we are good. Hang in there Danny!
Feel bad for Guice
UConn4523 : 12/13/2018 9:17 am : link
not so much for Foster or the Skins.
I love it when Rocky came out of retirement to fight him

My son met Guice last summer
gmenrule-va : 12/13/2018 9:30 am : link
when he worked at the Richmond Omni. He said that the spoke for a while and that Guice was a really nice guy. At the time seemed to be handling his injury and pending surgery well. I wish the kid the best.
If Guice had the same surgeons as Smith

I think the Redskins need a new doctor. Sheesh.
I do..
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/13/2018 10:00 am : link
know that there are whispers out there that Dr. Andrews is quickly becoming a guy to avoid on major surgeries.

Where's that Redskins poster that comes here before every season and tells us how good they're going to be?

I guess ace is not in the house.

The Redskins will always suck.

If he did both of those surgeries he should be avoided.
People like to jump on players, coaches and gm's when
Ira : 12/13/2018 10:19 am : link
they're down. Derrius Guice was a very good pick where he was drafted (59).
Foster's comments weren't the worst thing
Gman11 : 12/13/2018 10:21 am : link
Gruden saying it's no big deal was even worse.

He doesn't want to be the scapegoat to make the fans feel better about the guys making more money than he is who aren't performing.

Presumably someone like Josh Norman...
My understanding is that Mason Foster's comments were ...
Adam G in MD : 12/13/2018 10:32 am : link
In a private message, which was screen copied then posted by the recipient. Which is an incredibly dickish thing to do. If this is accurate, then one really can't blame Foster for this.
Guice's issues
Pete in MD : 12/13/2018 10:36 am : link
sound like Daniel Fells' but a different joint. And Dr. Andrews used to be considered one of the best, if not the best orthopedic surgeons in the US. Maybe he lost his touch?
Andrews..
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/13/2018 10:40 am : link
has been increasingly under fire since the way the RGIII situation was handled.

There's still a lot of uncertainty on what his opinion and involvement was in clearing him to play.

It was a DM sent to a fan. That fan has no obligation to MF. It's his stupid fault for responding. Sure the fan is a POS but he shouldn't have responded.
Remind me on Andrews ...
Beezer : 12/13/2018 10:43 am : link
is he the guy who also did/does Tommy John and other MLB procedures? Getting old (me)... can't remember things.
Yes...
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/13/2018 10:47 am : link
Andrews does or has done Tommy John surgeries.

He's an orthopedic surgeon who basically does knee, elbow and shoulder procedures.
Dr. Andrews must be up there in age
Anakim : 12/13/2018 10:50 am : link
I mean it seems like he's been the top surgeon for athletes for like 20 years or so.

I can't imagine age doesn't catch up to a surgeon one way or the other.

Yeah, this is from his wikipedia page:
Quote:
James Rheuben Andrews, M.D. (born September 1942) is an American orthopedic surgeon. He is a surgeon for knee, elbow, and shoulder injuries and is a specialist in repairing damaged ligaments. Practicing in Alabama, Andrews has become one of the most well known and popular orthopedic surgeons and has performed on many high profile athletes.

Many of those "elbow" procedures were TJ surgeries. He's big with ACL tears too. I didn't realize how old he is. Not that 76 is ancient but I think most surgeons retire before that age.
Or what those guys said.

Sharrif Floyd just sued Andrews for $180 million
sb from NYT Forum : 12/13/2018 11:34 am : link
...for causing permanent nerve and muscle damage for what Andrews told him would be minor arthroscopic surgery.

Pretty fucked up for Floyd, 27 years old and out of football.

really need a dose of reality. They are getting paid tons of money to play a game. Most normal people struggle with paying bills, groceries, rent etc.. and these guys are super rich from a sport. People on the internet are assholes and I am sure more than a few go way to far with it, but nonetheless they only make the money because of the fans. Why not stay off social media and just ignore what people say? Anything he says about management, coaches, etc.. that’s just complaining about your boss I wouldn’t fault the guy for that getting out. He’s gotta be smarter with where he says shit, but blame the fans? Get lost
