He sucks. He is part of the reason that all too often this season large completions were made against their secondary in zone coverage. Often, Bouye and Ramsay would be looking around to find the culprit.
Probably gentleman’s agreement for releasing Flowers and Omameh. Â
Wasn’t Church one of the players involved with the incident in England where they walked off without paying their bill?
Way to get tough, Jags! Show your intolerance only after your season goes down the toilet. That’ll teach em!
Yes. He has been a weak link in their secondary. Doug made a bad decision to stay with Church when they had Ronnie Harrison. But he was also part of the London Booze Binge.
..be a mess in a year or two because of 3 straight years of heavy spending if they didn't get out in front of some of the declining players (and make room for the inevitable when Ramsey holds out for $20M/yr next season). They have a bunch of cuttable guys that will save a ton of $ in '19.

Church was waived by the Jaguars on Friday.
Analysis: Church had started 27 consecutive games for Jacksonville prior to being a healthy inactive Week 13 against the Colts, with rookie Ronnie Harrison taking over as the starter at strong safety. The Jaguars were more than willing to move on from the veteran safety in order to avoid the $6.25 million cap hit the he'd carry in 2019, and opted to start cleaning house before the end of the season. Church seems unlikely to be claimed off waivers due to the money remaining on his contract, but can sign with any team once he clears waivers.

Church (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Titans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
Analysis: Church had been a starter for 27 consecutive games since joining the Jaguars in 2016, but he was replaced by rookie Ronnie Harrison against the Colts in Week 13. Church will now be a healthy scratch, with Harrison likely getting the start at strong safety in his place.
Bortles and Church may be even up for Flowers and Omameh.
Although I do get that Collins may be set to be a free agent.

It’s tough to have consistent success with poor QB play
