It’s bad enough he can’t play for us right now. Obviously it’s killing him not to be out there. But part of me feels like he’s just looking for attention by putting all this out there about the ins and outs of his injury, who said what to whom, etc., all while specifically having been told by the HC no to do exactly that. Worst part is this is cropping up while the team is finally playing well and least needs something like this as a distraction. The timing just sucks, and it’s too bad he can’t instead just zip it and support his guys until he can get back on the field.
Maybe I’m overreacting, but I don’t like the direction this seems to be heading, especially while all most of us probably want to do is cheer these guys on for an improbable wildcard spot.
Odell details his injury and how he felt ‘called out’ by PS/Mara - (
New Window )
Can see them getting a first for him & turning the page.
This isn’t a bash Beckham take, just something I could see happening. I don’t necessarily think Gettleman wanted to sign him, I think it was more of a Mara call. I think Mara/DG/PS are growing tired of the drama & will attempt to build a team which features a lot of Barkley in 2019.
Fingers crossed, but I doubt it. He sells a lot of jerseys.
Fingers crossed, but I doubt it. He sells a lot of jerseys.
That's pretty fair. What has the guy accomplished in the league except selling some jerseys? Nothing. Horrible receiver and a guy his teammates are always complaining about.
Oh wait...he is an excellent receiver and the only folks distracted by his "antics" are the press and some very sensitive fans.
Here is what I don't understand. The guy plays football, and plays it very well by any measure you use. For the sake of argument let's stipulate he is a self-centered prima donna who posts all his thoughts and feelings on the internet.
Why does anybody care? When you can show me is having a negative impact on the team by doing so, I would care. But short of that, why does anyone care what he is like off the field if he is not committing crimes or hurting people. He is a strange dude. So what?
Sounds about right.

He posted on social media the following :
"They wanna burn a bridge, then expect you to send a yacht."
That doesn't sound like a very good response and can only refer to recent comments by management.
I've been a Beckham defender for the most part, but that's just stupid and immature.
Was that recently or earlier at the start of the season?
It was posted 18 hours ago.
Most of what he posts are just song lyrics
This type of publicity has happened before with him and it will happen again.
He is not changing. Why does it matter. What matters is the Giants becoming winners again. They can do this with or without Beckham. I for one believe it will be without him, but we will see.
In the meantime his behavior has no bearing on whether they win or lose. The question shouldn’t be is he too much of a distraction. The question should be are they better with him or with the assets they can get from trading him.
Or reading it on NJ.com.
I've never looked at his Twitter or Instagram or whatever. I can only imagine the amount of unintentional comedy.
Aren't you bitching about what he is posting on insta?
And what management comments are you saying he is reacting to?
In hindsight Martin would have been the better pick for the team. But this franchise was so disfunctional, Aaron Rodgers coffee boy and company drafted a good smallish WCO receiver for Eli smh.

playing for the Giants for too much longer.
Would not be at all surprised to see a trade. Not now. But within the next 2 years.
What a diva flake, and man his albatross contract.
I'm just hoping for a Shockey Effect, where the team improves without him. Chemistry is a weird thing.
Morons
I said it yesterday and I will say it again. He is an asshole, has always been an asshole and will always be an asshole. You can't win with the guy. Trading him has always been the right move. How do you think he is going to act when we have the uoung QB who struggles and cant get him his stats?

You have it backwards. You act like he murdered someone. That’s what makes me laugh, really awful commentary by Giants fans over tweets and Instagram posts. Think about that, let it sink in...
I do t know what else some parts of this fan base want OBJ to do. He is a high profile player dealing with a nagging and potentially serious injury. He goes to the hospital and it’s the checkup that launched a thousand hot takes and speculative articles. Many of which are uninformed and say stupid things like he won’t be a Giant in two years or was a wasted contract.
I’d say OBJ isn’t the drama queen here. Many of you are. The media knows it and they feed your appetite and get clicks in the process. You should be rooting for the best WR in team history to get back on the field, not complaining that he gave an interview and is trying to make things all about him. Didn’t see any of you guys out there taking the leg whip, throwing a TD pass, or blocking for Saquon in overtime.

So you can't win if you have an asshole on your team? Interesting. I didn't realize all championship rosters were made up of really good dudes. Throw in an asshole and the team collapses.
This is next level stupid.

Very hard to do if they are team leaders. High paid guys need to set an example with their actions.

So I'm just posting what he posted. Not sure what the big fuckin deal is with that. But someone always has to bitch about something I guess.

I'm not bitching. Just seems to weird and possibly stupid timing.
I hate autocorrect
Really? Playing the race card....sad!

OMG! Calling a spade a spade...no pun intended.
Are they talking about Maras comments from two months ago?

I don't follow the intrigue as closely as some -- but that article seems suspect as far as timing. Did the team "call him out" recently and then he posted a song lyric? Is that the sequence of events?
Are they talking about Maras comments from two months ago?
Yes. Media, sometimes it’s meant to influence more than inform.

and he gets harder to root for. Look, everyone has thoughts, feelings and opinions that are unpopular. We all do things at times that aren't in our best interests. He goes out of his way to post every thought and feeling he has and of course that is going to draw negative opinions back.

Overall I don't and like many wouldn't even know about it, if it wasn't posted on here.

But what about his life influence on the underground gay scene?
LT wasn't really an asshole, he was the original honey badger, he just doesn't give a f***. Kind of made him the player that he was.
Like a previous poster said. It's not BBI anymore. It's TMZ.

and the definition of a piece of shit human being and BBI loves him. Ray Lewis was an asshole and won a title. Countless examples to fit counter your dumb post, but don’t let that get in the way of whatever your reply will be.

Ohh ok. Blowing lines and not coming to practice are considered ok but not instagram posts. Got it. Add in soliciting sex from a minor and you’re right, Beckham is worse.
This place is fucking nuts.

On the field LT's greatest attribute was his unhinged tenacity which he completely controlled with his tremendous football intellect and awareness to not hurt the team. He was actually extraordinarily sportsman like on the field.

Must trade him this off season or they will never be able to get anything close to what they would right now. Eli does not need Beckham, get Eli a very good OLine, get him decent receivers, and a good defense and we have as good a shot as anyone, he must have the OLine or he is not nearly the same QB.
In hindsight Martin would have been the better pick for the team. But this franchise was so disfunctional, Aaron Rodgers coffee boy and company drafted a good smallish WCO receiver for Eli smh.
Mcadoo drafted Odell?
Fiery is insinuating that you're not playing because you're butt hurt the owner (who just paid you a fortune) told you to shut up and play earlier in the season? If the above is true, that's hard to defend.
Quote:
Giants fans want to run him out of town. Same shit with Shockey.. gimme more guys like odell and shockey. They Hate to lose

So you think OBJ waited two months to exact his revenge?
And he played through injury one game but being shut down in subsequent games due to a set back is really he way for addressing comments that he has already addressed?
Can't make this shit up.
