But they were playing better the last five weeks or so. Today was bad again... hopefully it stops. I give up. I just don’t think it was crazy to believe that the giants were tending upward lately. Four of five is a start. Just sounds like many here couldn’t wait to say told you so after a disgusting game today. Same shit whatever... fuck this season.
We've all posted some iteration of what you just said for six years running.
It's time we stopped kidding ourselves about what is going on. The way this franchise operates is not allowed with what we see from best practices around the league. This isn't just about Eli, Beckham, the Barkley pick, or one other thing.
There is a larger, more fundamental problem. How is this not obvious to everyone yet?
now we are saying Reese has nothing to do with this team. As if the last 8-9 draft didnt happen.
Not one quality player on the team drafted in round 3 or later.
His two top-10 picks were legitimate franchise killers.
Not ONE OL he drafted is still on the team.
Drafted a lot of league average players at high positions as well. Cant wait for SS to get a big time extension.... who's with me?
Gettleman chose to move away from a number of Reese players and replace them with arguably worse players in the immediate term.
Now hopefully cleaning house and building the team in the identity the management and staff want as investment.
But just looking at the numbers doesn't tell the whole story.
Criticizing the team doesn't make someone a shitty fan Â
than what they were - wins against awful and/or injury riddled teams.
Trying to build a trend out of it was wishful thinking, to try to whistle past the graveyard that is the Giants since their last championship run early this decade. The NFL isn't about long term trends for the most part - there's one Belichick, and the rest are mostly a bunch of teams that bounce up and down in the standings from year to year.
Don't get mad at Terps, put the anger where it belongs, for taking those wins to be anything more than single game events that don't mean shit as far as the future's concerned.
Gettleman had a good first draft. Hopefully he has a good second one. And then a third.
That's how we're going to climb out of this.
His draft does indeed seem to be solid thus far (though let's not forgot how often our promising young players don't pan out or remain on the team). It's reasonable enough to be optimistic about him drafting good players who contribute, sure.
But I'm terrified of his and the team as a whole's approach to free agency. Are they going to shell out big dollars on players who deserve it, or trade more future assets on guys who are just okay, under some desperate belief that we need such players to make a rapid improvement?

Sure, I believe so. They had a bad game in tough elements. Doesn't change much in the big picture.
What a joke.
Another person that rather see the team struggle and be right. Absolutely fucking pathetic "fan".

Wanting the Giants to win and refusing to ignore the problems you see are two different things.
You want to pretend, go ahead.
He rather root for players to fail just so he can say he was right. By the wayt BestFeature - got a list on who quit today?

I am not saying criticizing the team when they suck. There are posters who root for players to fail. And calling them quitters.
None of the guys available last year are doing well. There isn't another Bill Belichick walking around. I wanted Saban but it's not that easy.

But I have no control over it.
Today’s game was definitely ugly

I dunno, that Matt Nagy guy seems to be doing pretty well. Giants didn't even interview him if I recall.
That's just so Giants.
